The Risk Racing Lock-N-Load Pro Moto Transport System looks great and I'd like to have them but at Rocky Mountain they are listed at $279.99. Maybe I'm cheap but it's hard to justify that expense when it's not something that is absolutely necessary. Has anyone made their own adapter plate for the basic Lock-N-Load system to make it easily and quickly removable?

I have them side by side in my van. They use 4 wing bolts to remove each one from the base. I made my own base so they would bolt to the seat rails in the floor. It uses 6 of the wing bolts and 2 of the seat pins.

The new lock n load pro slides off the track and just leaves a plate on the floor if you need the space for something else. The biggest advantage compared to Bikebinderz or moto clix is having a solid arms that hold the bike from moving forward or backward better.
Have you used Bikebinderz? I’ve been seen bikes move back and forth once they’re locked down.

I haven't but I can see the bikes could roll forward and back a little as the suspension compresses slightly. That would be fine in a truck with the front wheel against the front, but I don't want it moving forward or back in the van as stuff gets packed in around the bikes.

Does 24mx sell in the Us? They sell the quickload from proworks for 70-80 euro

That’s my point, you’re assuming that the bike will rock back and forth. Once bikebinderz are locked down the bike isn’t rocking back and forth or moving around at all.

Take a look at the latest picture from their Instagram, the bike doesn’t have anything touching the front wheel or back wheel and if that bike rocked back and forth or moved at all it would fall off of the trailer the way it’s mounted.

There's pins around the front wheel to keep it from rolling. I don't have anything against bike binders, just stating that I believe the risk ones will hold it it better due to the rigid design. I would think you would have to load the suspension pretty good to prevent the forward and back movement.

You’re right I see the pins now that you’ve pointed them out. If you do go to their Instagram though there’s plenty of pictures of people using them in trailers where they are only using the bikebinderz and nothing is touching the front or rear tires. I do not believe the bikes move back and forth.

I was considering going with the lock-n-load setup because my son is sponsored by Risk racing. But I still think I’ll go with the bikebinderz.

This is what we used in our van back in '98 and beyond.
Some chain and...




The only problem was you had to chock the back wheel to stop a bit of forwards or backwards movement, it was still a piece of piss though.

I have the old lock n loads and the only plastic is the knobs. Nothing to break on them. And it takes 4 holes to mount them. There is pressure on the suspension both front and back and that is what holds the bike from moving, but nothing that's going to blow seals. Not sure how your bike could fall with the old style as it clamps completely around the peg top and bottom.

I like the simplicity of of the mx mounts. If I had a truck they would be a great choice, but my van has windows and too much movement would smash out the side windows.

Just a bit of an update since I revived this post...had the L/L Pro now for 4 months and really like them. First off, the Risk Racing customer service was AWESOME! The set I bought from RMATVMC had an issue out of the box. Called Risk, not RM, and they sent me a whole new set right away, told me to take what I needed and send the rest back. No questions, no issues! Now they are installed I'll give you my $.02-Very easy. I wanted these so 1. I wouldn't kill myself trying to do tie downs in my van. I have a MBZ 170 that I built a "stepped partition" in so I don't have full and easy access to the front of the bike. Plus trying to get a good pull on the strap on either bike on either "wall" side was a pain. I could never get it tight...plus trying to weasel in between 2 bikes in a van aint easy....which is really my point of getting these, I wanted loading and unloading to be easy for my wife and 13 year old son so that she could take him to practice or races. As it is now and was with the p/u truck, the only time he rode raced was when I could take him. That limited opportunities as well as prevented me from going to my daughter's activities and my wife from going to the boy's races...now we still divide and conquer but we are not locked (no pun intended) into me going with him and her going with her...so...i am a fan. They are easy to adjust, slide out when I need to load the van with ply wood for the build out, and I think they were well worth the money!

I have the old ones as well. Only plastic is the knobs and they do mount with 4 holes as mentioned above.

I really like them in my van.

The new version of lock and load is much better then the old one. I’d recommend it to anyone. Removing them when not using is super easy.

Wow thats a clean bike and motorhome setup! Really like those mounts. I currently use 2 of the older style lock and loads and they work well and Im able to move them back and forth between my practice trailer and toyhauler. Ive had them 8 years now and still going strong. As another poster noted I have scarred my fork lugs and protectors putting the bikes in and out at times. Not to mention a few shin dings when not paying attention haha. All in all would purchase again. I personally think the newest design of lock and load are too expensive.

I have a friend that works for a Honda dealer in the Cleveland area. They had been sitting on a shelf for several years collecting dust. They were given to them as a Promotional deal by the owner who passed away unexpectedly.
He asked the owner what she wanted for all 4. I figured since I can never get replacement parts I should buy some extra.

I hate to take away from a company that is involved in mx (not sure of the extent, but still) but me and some buddies made our own peg anchors. We call the ATS, Ashley tiedown system!!
The problem with that is you have 8 bolts in your floor and with MX Mounts design you only need 2 bolts to hold 2 bikes. Another big difference is you have to adjust for every different bike, with MX Mounts there is no adjusting and it also l ocks your bike up. #mxmounts

Any user of the new grey Risk Lock N load Pro can tell me if you can just push the arms down with your hands ?

I explain, my truck has a low roof so i can't jump on the bike and push the arms down using my legs and my weight.

Can i still use it by just pushing the arms down on the pegs with the force of my hands ?

For example, i had the old lock N load system and with the old one, you must jump on the bike in order to lock it down.

i've had 3 sets in our cargo trailer for 6 months. i dont have to body weight the bike, i can just lean it to one side, lock it, then pull/lean to the other side, and get it plenty tight enough to be secure. where it's grabbing the bike, the pegs vs say the bars with straps, it doesnt need to be under near as much tension as you'd think.

Love my Lock N Load Pros... Not dealing with tie downs is great... Yeah, pricy though.... Only die once and I owe it to myself! LOL

New and vintage together in harmony....
