BOOM!
He HAS NOT “Raced” a JGR bike yet.
I got this info from someone that had a REALLY good night at one of those races...racing against Joey.
Borrowed bikes with a few bolt on parts.

Did you see AC at mec?

They are happy with their decision and long term investment.

Long term? AC has one year on his contract, doesn’t seem long term to me.

Unless they are willing to shell out serious clams, he’ll be riding a different bike in 2021.
They got the one year out of the way to just get it going. They will sign him for two or three years before mec Next year.

I am sure if I win both championships they will be pissed they did not answer my emails too. But come on now.... I mean Joey is a badass but I don't think anyone expects Joey to beat AC.

As to the OP. I see him in that 5-10 for sure. But that top 5 is awefully crowded....

Webb
Roczen
Tomac
Anderson
Musquin
AC
Barcia
Stewart
Brayton
Osborne

shit...i mean ten!!!! Smile

he was already beating half that list last year. and no buddy expected webb to win last year, thats why they actually line up and race. joey has shown he has the ability to race with the best in the sport. give the guy some respect
tons of respect, hence the "joey is a badass" i typed above.

But which do you think will be a bigger surprise to win a 450 main. Joey or AC?

It is that simple. In all honesty I would LOVE it if I was wrong and Joey went and beat AC every race and got the first 450 main win before AC gets his. As I love suzuki's and think they get an unfair rap.

That not withstanding, let's see how it pans out. Can't wait for the 2020 season to start.

lets not forget Joey would have won a race a MEC last year too if he didnt do Eli a solid. So its not like AC is doing things Joey could only dream of.

I wouldn't be anymore shocked if Joey won before AC. Mainly because Joey is very fast and already has a year in 450 SX. AC has one race on the 450 at MEC and that's no where close to the challenge of a real 450 SX track/race

I'll take Joey for consistency over AC. I see Joey having more of a Dungey style (consistency) and AC being more like a JS7 (checkers or wreckers). We'll see who finishes out the year on two wheels.

Thanks for the Heads up on the Racer X podcast. I liked Joey’s perspective. Seems like he has experienced some growth as a human. Nice outlook on the future of his career and life, some times Hard lessons are the best ones in life.
I wish him the best. I’d like to believe JGR/Joey/Johnny O will be a great team in 2020.🤙🏻

They said stock with suspension in the interviews.
Really how much are they going to mod the motor? Suspension is about 90% of the testing game nowadays isn't it?

You think that Joey could hold off a charging Eli Tomac for 3 or 4 laps like AC did.

Even the first run through the whoops on the practice track looks a little sketchy right now... They'll get it dialed in, he'll be fast and surprise a few Vital negative nellies.

If he get a factory FCU Id say top 3....

Id say they will mod the motor a hell of a lot .the stock bike is nt the fastest out there , but it can be modified to be. Plus he only had a wk of testing, so do you thing the suspension he brought with him will be the same as A1

Joey has potential, but it's just not going to happen on that JGR bike. JGR is where dreams go to die, like the Cleveland Browns.

I think he would do better on a privateer Kawasaki. I put him at 10th -15th. Thrown in some injuries and he will be in top 10. Not sure how Justin "Bare Minimum" Hill got the Bullfrog ride and not Joey.

There's no way he would do better as a privateer vs being on JGR. If you truly believe that, you don't know anything about the professional side of the sport.

Agree. I’m not a Zuk fan, but it would suck not to see a major Japanese brand not representing the sport given their history.

I totally agree. It’s a shame to see Suzuki without anywhere near the professional presence it used to have. I hope Joey does well, for himself, for JGR & for Suzuk.

Btw...is it just me, or is that J1 gear kind of fugly? Maybe not ugly, but just nothing special..like “generic”. It would be cool to see Joey wearing Shift, Fox or Alpinestar stuff.

In regards to J1, I’m the opposite. I’m liking it the more I look at it. Lol, good thing there are lots of options out there for all of us. 🤙🏻

Finishes 3rd in Foxborough and talks about how much progress they have made and are ready to compete for wins... meanwhile 3 top 5 riders are injured.
