The track was as tame as I’ve ever seen it. Haaker does well on tame, jumpy tracks.

He passed Taddy in the first moto after continuing to jump before the finish line. There was an injured rider on the track and everyone else was following the track workers gestures and keeping it on the ground. Not our boy Haaker though. The champ couldn’t be bothered. Lap after lap, he was landing within feet of the paramedics.

Say what? What flags were being waved? They don't have a wheels on the ground rule?

I put that on the Organizer's for not penalizing him. Eric Peronard usually runs a professional race, that sounds bush league, about like the Superenduro title he won. *2019 Endurocross Champion.

Thanks for the report, Endurocross is at it's best when the tracks are brutal and not so jumpy.

Yellow flags were out. Workers were standing out on the track pointing towards the ground. I don’t believe he broke any rules. But it was a dick move in my opinion and he was the only one doing it. The track workers were giving him “WTF dude?” gestures every time he passed.

Again, I don’t believe rules were broken. I just don’t care for the way he races.

Edit:
He was clearly faster than Taddy all night on that track. I’m not trying to start controversy or say he shouldn’t have won. Just venting because I didn’t like what he was doing.

The lapper blocked Taddy for more than a lap toward the end of the second main. Almost as though the lapper was paid off. Ref should have black flagged the guy. Course was way to tame and the announcing needs improved. What happened to the water section? We don't have a drought in Idaho. Hope the promoter can turn EX around.

So in the World Endurocross final there was some questionable moves made by Colton to win the championship. And now the US championship albeit only a three round series. Jumping and landing on a yellow near workers. Ironic. More of the Extreme enduro event fan myself. Erzberg, Romaniacs, Roof of Africa, Sea to Sky. Jarvis, Johnny, Letty, Taddy, Billy Bolt. Now that's skill at the top of the scale. Its great today the coverage the Extreme events get.

Going through this I’ll try to cover as much as I can.
For those that don’t know my 20 year old son Ty races the pro class on a TM 300 #6

The track was certainly on the less technical side for an EX. Hopefully the new promoter will get more aggressive with the tracks next season. We used to think a harder track suited guys like Taddy and Cody more than Colton, but over the years I’ve seen Colton win on the hardest tracks and Cody on the easiest. It really doesn’t make a difference anymore.

As far as the lapper goes I didn’t see it as I was watching my kid, but from what another mechanic told me was Taddy followed the lapper directly into a section and got held up and Colton was smart enough not to follow directly behind. The guy getting lapped is over here racing from Germany. We got to know him and he’s a good guy, spending many nights in his van just to race here. He wouldn’t be holding up Taddy on purpose. Right after the finish line Taddy started screaming at him, then again as they where leaving the stadium. I felt bad for the guy, nobody wants to be in that position. We where pitted next to KTM, Taddy was going off for another 5 minutes back in the pits. It was pretty bad and just reinforced my opinion of him. That being said he is still the GOAT of EX. Colton has a long way to go before anyone can claim that (that was from an earlier comment)

On the rider down and Colton jumping that section. Again I didn’t see it as it was on the backside of the finish line jump and the mechanics area was just in front of it. I asked Ty about it. The crash happened right in front of him. He said they watered it pretty heavy so it was slick. He was getting ready to unweight the bike over the first log to make sure he got enough lift to clear the 2nd when he saw him go down. It was a hard crash! Anyways EX has the same rules with the cross flags as SX. Cross flag don’t jump, yellow flags it’s ok to jump. They only had the yellow flags out, so ok to jump. They probably should have cross flag out, but they didn’t. Ty didn’t jump it because with it being slick he didn’t feel comfortable doing it with people there. Really they should he red flagged it IMO.

As for my son’s night, it was pretty hectic. His rear wheel came apart in moto #2 while he was running 3rd. Not sure why the spokes broke out of it, think maybe it got a piece of wood from the chopped wood section stuck in it breaking the spokes. Anyways a last place finish in that moto also gave him a 2nd row start in moto 3. Results weren’t great, but we felt he was riding good all night. Fortunately he was still able to wrap up the Junior championship for Pro’s under 21.

Thanks for the update Chris, you set the record straight as usual. It's a shame no TV is available so we wouldn't have to wait to find out what happened. Maybe next year.

Congratulations to Ty on the Junior Championship, hopefully the future goes well for him. He showed to podium speed this year, and hopefully keeps getting faster so he can catch up from behind like the big boys do.

I see Red Bull put together with Cody a new Extreme event in TX, any chance you guys might make the trip?

No we won’t make it to Texas. We’re working on trying to make at least or more of the Super Enduro’s in Europe. Think he would do really well in the Junior class there.

Good luck on a Euro trip, most likely the 1st of many. Thanks for the update.

No rule in off-road against jumping on a yellow but both riders received a warning and the 2020 rules for EnduroCross will be updated accordingly.
