Tell me it’s not more exciting watching the riders work their assess off to squeeze everything out of the slower bikes.
Tell me it’s not more exciting when mistakes actually have a price.
Tell me those bikes don’t sound better.
This event lays it out, all the answers which the sport won’t look at, because why prune and grow when you can die of thirst later.

even the way they react to the physics involved in supercross style racing is way cooler. there’s something visual about 2 strokes in how they behave on the track that reminds us what we lost when the sport went NASCAR.
However, even with all that said do you really want a series of this? Or even simpler, how do you take anything from this and integrate it to our current supercross/motocross championships to improve them? Serious question. Or maybe the answer isn't to try and "fix" SX/MX but to instead have more unique events like this?
Again, I loved the event last night, and look forward to it again next year.

The easiest fix that is attainable, and would open up a new revenue stream for the manufacturers is changing the class structure.
250effs become your open class. 125 two strokes your “lites” class.
Marketable difference between the bikes. 250f is as fast as 2502t were. So overall bikes are slower, mistakes mean more and tracks can go back to being slower and more technical.
A challenging track for a 250f is safer on a 125 because you can’t do the big rhythms. A challenging track for 450s is Cole Seely casing a quad and breaking his pelvis.
All junior racing is two stroke, barriers to entry come down and participation goes up. Pro racing lites class becomes more affordable for kids who aren’t on a magic carpet.
Manufacturers get a 3 to five year warning. This is happening. It needs to for the sport, yours and our hip-pockets. They can then really examine what CC limits would produce competition and look to modify 250 class rules to allow both.... they get a new revenue stream and we get to see the magical racing of 125s again.
