Racer142 Added a reply to Kyb gold valve installation
12/28/2024 1:45pm Just realized I put this in bike builds instead of tech help. If a mod can move it that would be cool.

Racer142 Added a reply to Kyb gold valve installation
12/28/2024 8:53am So my question is does any of this look right? Just seems so wildly different that I feel like i got the wrong kit or something. It did come with some secondary pieces labeled compression which more closely resemble the stock setup but not the diagram they provided.

12/28/2024 8:50am Alright last couple photos. This is the top with the shim stacks on. No shoulder is exposed so it doesn't look like i need to shim the stack up at all. But the dvs sheet shows using the sleeve washer and spring at the top. Stock was a collar and spring with a cup washer that fit pretty tightly against...

12/28/2024 8:37am This is the recession that the new shim completely seals. The stock setup had these 3 shims then the base plate then the shim stack.

12/28/2024 8:34am So it shows a low speed valve setup. When I built the low speed valve it looks completely different than stock. The bottom shim blocks the entire flow where stock drops in if that makes any sense.

12/28/2024 8:30am Alright this will be a bit long but hopefully it'll make sense. Backstory I've been rebuilding my own suspension for years but this is my first time revalving. I bought the racetech gold valve kit. While building them it seems completely different than what i started with. I need some help on the next steps. This will be picture heavy...

9/5/2024 9:14pm Pretty awesome story. Are you a Memphis local?
Racer142 Added a reply to One socal ride day
8/16/2024 12:19am I currently live in the Memphis tn area which has 1 track within 2 hour that's open with any consistency. Otherwise a regular ride day is a 3 hour drive each way. Socal can be trash and it's still better than what I have on any given weekend.

8/15/2024 9:25pm Glen Helen is iconic but honestly i like jumps. I've watched a million videos of all these tracks honestly so I'm more looking for locals thoughts if they only had 1 day to ride which it would be. Who preps the best and which track is gonna be the best overall experience.

8/15/2024 5:28pm So I might be making a trip to Socal next month and have Sept 28th free. I was looking at bike rentals and where i could ride that day. $300 for a day so gotta make it worth it. What track/ rental company will be the best bang for my buck?

Racer142 Added a reply to Mississippi - MX 886 and Vet MX Park?
6/5/2024 9:27am Vet closed years ago. 2016ish. 886 is mostly closed. He does open on occasions but they sold most of the equipment after a serious injury. From Columbus your best bet will be looking into Alabama for tracks. Miller motorsports in Booneville has a small track with lights they open fairly regularly that would be great for a mini rider.
Racer142 Added a reply to Yz250 bottom end
5/15/2024 11:00pm Also after splitting the cases it goes into neutral properly again. I can't see any washers or spacers on the diagram that might have fallen during disassembly.

5/15/2024 10:56pm Yes of course. It shifted through the gears and into neutral. Though it is harder to shift that videos I've seen online. The pins the shift dogs are on kind of twist when shifting without the other case half on. When I put the cases together it still shifted through all gears but when I lined it up for neutral...
Racer142 Started a new thread Yz250 bottom end
5/15/2024 7:58pm Bought a blown up yz a couple months ago and been rebuilding it. Done a few bottom ends and they always seem to be a little different from the next. Anyways I got the transmission in and put the case halves back together but can't get the transmission into neutral. Shifts through all the gears fine with no binding but...

Racer142 Added a reply to Hello DC and Pro Ama it's been 20 years now....
10/24/2023 6:26pm I remember an interview with DC when the yz250f was introduced. He said it was temporary and that they would adjust the cc if it overshadowed the 125 and was unfair. Today I saw an interview with the mcgrath talking about how the peak Honda 125 was the only bike capable of jumping sx triples back then and now you...
Racer142 Added a reply to Star Racing running longer swingarms?
9/25/2023 11:44am I don't believe the swing arm is covered under homogulation. The frame can be strengthen but otherwise not altered and the cases can't be altered. But I'd imagine swing arms from any year or even fully factory would be legal similar to factory hubs and transmissions.
