How do I see some of you getting brand new bikes for 9k or under otd... I'm in the market for a 2020 yz450 and its almost like a get laughed at for wanting my otd price anywhere near the MSRP... Yes, I'm in California and I know thats not helping me but I seem to see people all the time, even in California, getting new bikes for under MSRP. I feel like thats not asking too much.

I have worked at a small shop right off of I-5 for about 4 months now and I have had 3 or 4 customers stop in stating that they had driven to Power Motorsports in Salem, Oregon from So. Cal. because their prices are so good. I have also heard of people paying to ship bikes to them from Power because they can still get it cheaper after shipping costs. Working in a shop I can tell you that most of their prices are lower than our cost to buy them. We can't compete with them. I guess you just have to know the right people... or drive to Power...

Do you party in Temecula?

I feel your pain. I'm having a hard time here in AZ as well. I think I missed the boat on a 2019 YZ 125/ 250

Find a shop that hates selling dirtbikes or find the whore dealership and user their price to shop around. I bought my 19 yz450f in Ohio as soon as they came out for $8575 otd.

probably spend your cost in gas to have them ship it, and save a bunch of time. just a thought.

If you were on the east coast Romney cycles is hands down the best place to find a deal. You can bargain with them as well.

I would almost kinda try just a wee bit to kinda sorta almost agree BUT having actually sold bikes at 2 different dealerships ......one of which has recently basically consumed almost the entire Orange County market by buying up all of their competition between LAX and and the 55 fwy ,)

I could only stomach doing bike sales for about 6 months after seeing some of the things dealershis do to EARN the nickname STEALERSHIP.

To anyone thinking of financing a bike you should really try to do your homework, if you can I insist on obtaining financing on your own ...the best way would be to join a credit union. Youll get the best rates and wont be put in revolving credit loans that are literally 100% front loaded. If you dont know, "Fronr Loading" is something dealerships especially in the powersports industry will try as hard as possible to lock you into where the loan is designed with placing ALL the profit from the maturity of the loan in the first months of the months of financing and youll have a principal that goes down $10 a month paying upwards of $300 a month for a bike pmt.

Pay Attention To This bec while i dont speak for all dealers .... i promise you an overwhelming majority do this and its What used to really get me upset and eventually made me happy to quit doing sales. Locking uninformed customers into 99% front end loaded revolving ccreditloan very single time anyone with flawless credit getting approved by dealership finance companies theu'd be approved from .99% to 3.99% and the sales manager or finance manager mark up a customers financing from .99% to 7.99% and 3.99 to 12.99% and tell me i had to sell it that way. Customers would look at me ķò% - 12.99%???? Ive seen a 3.99 get marked up to 17.99%!!
Its not right imo and i couldnt be a part of that. I know a lot of dealers do thill

I dont care if revealing that upsets anyone on here that work in sales, it needs to be out out there if it goes on as often as i saw it. For anlnyone thinking of buying a bike through dealer finance programs , try as hard as you can to get your own financing before you get locked into a shitty situation

Some of us spend time building relationships with dealers and try to provide value for them instead of just asking for shit.

That doesn't go on so much here in the Midwest as far as I know. Here many dealers tack on bogus fees to increase their profits.

I guess that's why my Brother is so successful. He sells Polaris and Kawasaki. His price is plus tax and a $30 doc fee.
He's one of the biggest Polaris dealers in the state. He sells a ton of SxS's in a town of 6000 people. Still does it old school and has lots of repeat customers.

Maybe im wrong...

Financing through synchrony financial(my local dealer uses them) wouldnt net the dealer more money.. other than a small bonus for getting someone to sign up for a loan maybe. Synchrony would make the money off the interest and the MSRP amount would go to the dealer.

Most dealers will be offered a "buy rate" say 10% they then bump that rate and extend you the deal. So say 16% That 6% is all profit for the dealer. That along with extended warranty, insurance, maintenance plans sold at closing are how the Financing Department makes profit.

BnB in Victorville. They tell me the otd price over the phone, I show up and am in and out in under an hour, after 1/2 hour of bullshitting. No muss no fuss. Are they the absolute cheapest ? No idea but there hundreds less than what I get quoted where I live and it’s only an hour further. The last bike I bought from them was an XT250 for my wife, my otd price was $600 less than the sticker price in OC. Before all the bullshit gets piled on. I hope they make a 1/2 way decent profit and don’t care if they do. They’re not there for their health Laughing

That's right. I'm going there today to see about a 19 KTM 125. They have them cheaper than other dealers are trying to sell 2020 YZ 125's.

Yes I do promote and offer Free signage to doghouse, front gate, anywhere on our property to any shop in the Houston area. Free demo days, free tent sales ,even give free 1 year membership to any new bike bought in those shops. You know how many have taken advantage of that ?? 1 dealer. Try to ask for giveaways for races, discount coupons , no response . I also promote EBR who I have been friends with for 34 years. Altus is their main sponsor, Tejas was being re built for the fire. Bought my last one from them. And as far as sending riders to my track, it goes both ways. They wouldn’t sell a dirt bike if I hadn’t invested almost 3 million on a track. Fact is some dealers won’t budge on price and people will always look for the best deal. We support everyone in the MOTO industry. Doesn’t always work both ways.

This is sooo true.... when I purchased my bike. It was out of state and but I just had to have it. I was traveling with work etc.. sales guy was super great and even helped with locate getting the bike to me from several states away. I was set on buying at MSRP. Without asking gave me $750 rebate. Which I found odd, seeing that it was a Factory Edition and they could sale the bike any second.was telling me they offer great financing in house and the discount money was if I financed the bike with the bank. Even though I didnt ask.Was like ok. Just send me the bike. Paper work came across, forgot what the apr originally was, but it was around 8-10%. Made a quick call told them no way! There mood change fast. Helped my find a carrier, held the bike for 3 days blah blah. They ended up knocking down a few point to like 6%. Just wanted the bike either way, none to be found anywhere. After 60days moved the loan to my bank..... so there is always another angle to get out of it.
