WW looks boring.

Yep. You left out Alan Andreu. Every rider you mentioned Alan beat more than once.

Before the 18 wheeler Wonder Warthog gave every privateer that made the night show the AMA race entrance fee back to the riders. Great privateer concept to help the privateers to get to the next race!

Damn, that sucks. It was one hell of an offer.

Sunshine Speedway was flat. It had great Nationals in the 70s & 80's.

Orlando Sports Stadium was flat. It had great Trans-AMA races in the 70's.

Daytona SX is flat. It is outdoor national rough when they allow the sand to be the primary surface.

Florida flat is not the same as California parking lot flat. The sand is the difference. There were times at Orlando that the whoops were 4 feet deep. Racing in the heat makes a difference also. It's why Hannah always came to the Winter series.

Right now the weather forecast is for 95 degrees and 65% humidity. 65% humidity is not bad at all for Florida in the summer. Plus, it shows a 9 mph breeze. So that is actually pretty good. It is tough when the humidity gets to 80-85% and above.

40% chance of PM thunderstorms which is normal in the summer. Just have to hope it does not hit. You get lots of rain in Florida in the summer (often every day) which makes planning a big race dicey at best.

I remember Alan well. Super fast. What part of the state was he from?

Kippy won a 125 National moto at St Pete one year and Keylon destroyed them all in a 250 National at St Pete winning both motos.

I left out a lot of others. Florida had many fast guys back then. And of course, the best ever...RC4 is a Florida rider. JS7 too.

Alan grew up in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville. He now lives in Hilliard and owns and operates North Florida MX track.

Easy Tracks make for close racing. Everybody can be fast on an easy track.

The track looks awesome. Unfortunately, I don't think the split lane will live up to the hype. I hope it makes for some good passes and the broadcast team catches the action though! I see it becoming heavily favored on one side, getting rough, then riders switching it up. Curious to see what they do with track maintenance. The first laps will be interesting! Seems like a much better approach than what SX has been offering as of late.

How on Earth did you arrive at the conclusion WW is an easy track? Let me assure you - it's a pro track in every way possible. And I don't believe for a second humidity is going to be 65% come Saturday. It was 10,000% today as I worked on my 87 in the garage. By 1300 I was completely soaked. I hate it, and know exactly what Eli meant after the 2nd Moto of the USGP when he said, "I felt like I was racing with a wet blanket on me."

How does FL Track and Trails stack up against WW? Place looks legit with a long track and lots of parking.

Haven't made the trip, but have heard good things. WW is pure pro level MX, but even squids like me can ride there on occasion. FT&T is tracks and trails and nothing like WW. It's a few hours further south too, so I promise the humidity is "sweet."

Track looks grueling. I'm okay with it. Good dirt and really rough.

Track reminds me of Englishtown. Surprised the Jersey Boyz aren’t killing it.

Where's the OP? Forget his password? Too busy climbing the natural terrain of Mt. Everest to watch the race?

Racing separated those in shape and not. Not the most technical track but with the weather is took its toll and the ones who paced themselves showed through.
Eli was smart to yard and break them early the 2nd moto but almost got caught by Zac.
It’s not the track that separated them it was who was better prepared if you could for those conditions.

For being in such a flat area, I think they did great with the track.

I enjoyed it too, I think the track looked great and the heat definitely separated those who prepared just a little harder than the rest. Biggest complaint I heard all day, start building up the spectator areas a bit. The viewing wasn’t great but a little elevation would help a ton and keep ya from standing in that cow pasture manure mud

Diamondback/Cocoa was flat (so flat, it's now a baseball/football field facility)
Ask anyone who ever rode there, am or pro, and they'll tell you the toughest track they ever rode

I’ve already heard they have plans to build more areas spectator friendly. The thing about the Scarborough family is, if there is something to be made better, they will do it. They learned from year one, and will make it better for the next time! I can’t wait to watch the race on tv and see how it looked!

I agree with you, they will definitely take the criticism and improve their facility if reasonable. Only thing I think they really needed was more shaded bleachers for general admission. Also if they were elevated a little more that would of been even better. These are only minor complaints though.
