Not a ton of elevation in Fla, but there have been numerous great national mx tracks in Florida over the years. WW is not and never will be one of them. A flat piece of property with manmade obstacles, amenities and nice pits does not make for a national caliber mx facility. Shame following on the heels of an excellent (as always) Hi-Point and Colorado offering. The southeast fans deserve better. Races like this and Pala are just schedule fillers.
Sunshine Speedway held many awesome Nationals in Florida. Flat with manmade jumps.

This will be a great race.

By the way, for all you people who criticize 'flat' Florida tracks go race some of them and see how you do. It will be an eye-opener most likely. You better like whoops.

*Bangs fist... "We need a national in the Southeast.

Gets national in the Southeast, "It's too flat."

Typical Vital poster.

Out of all the "man made-track-built-on-flat-ground" GP tracks we've seen these last few years, WW was probably the best one.

The track looks great! And it's going to be HOT.

It's Florida, what do you expect? It's flat here. It's our "natural terrain" (actually, no, swamp is our natural terrain).

The track is going to get ROUGH. If you've never ridden in Florida, just wait. We talk about wanting more variety on the National circuit, well, here it is. This will be completely different than many of the other tracks that end up looking the same.

The biggest worry for me is the heat and humidity (and the potential for lightning), but more so as a spectator Laughing

Funny how gassed the riders look after riding in a "parking lot" ...

I raced there before. It had what I call some man made hills though. Remember McCoy Mountain? But yes, flat to start with.

Yeah, you can tell so much from a go-pro video of some D class beginners on a dusty track. Maybe they should just cancel it so that you are not bored or better yet don't watch it if its not up to your standards Wink

I am looking forward to seeing how fast these boys will be rolling this track. But I wish Monster got the national. Unfortunately there's not enough room or accessibility for monster (yet..)

In moto two, Marvin Musquin passed 33 riders.

Yes in moto 2 Wink The first 450 moto looked like everybody struggled with the track but then it seemed like a whole different animal in moto 2. I don't know if it was small track maintenance adjustments, bike set up, starting order, or just a better mental outlook after being out there previously for 35 minutes. My point to the op is that you just never know exactly how any of the tracks are going to race and just because it doesn't have the wonderful elevation of High Point that doesn't mean the racing will be boring.

WW will be great. The track is pretty sandy, and gets super rough. The weather is going to be the biggest challenge. Hot, humid and possible muddy. This will be a race that separates the men from the boys. But dont worry, the track will provide excellent entertainment.

I do wonder how it will be for spectating, I am thinking of going but probably not if it'll be difficult to get much of a view.

Did anyone go to the GP there--how was it?

Another flat parking lot track with a couple mounds of dirt added. Yippie!! Dry
I don't think you understand. Mega TONS of dirt have been brought in to build this track. The tables and jumps are enormous. It probably is now the highest point in Florida.

Anyhow, the pros seem to like the place. They're always there riding on it.

Let's see how the racing turns out before we bury the place with "tracks that suck."

OP, you think that track is boring? Come ride it. After it schools you, you'll know better.

I feel pretty certain that there will be lines and plenty of passing at WW.

Really excited to see this race. Eli loves the sand and Kenny lives in the Florida heat. Expecting all the Florida boys to take a vantage of the situation

Whole new access tunnels have been dug under the track. You will be able to get to the middle of the track for spectating.

Come and support the Florida National. We've been begging for one for decades now. Here it is. I put my money where my mouth is and spent $1500 for 3 tickets.

There is going to be a lot more viewing sections now then there was for the GP. Southwest side of the track will be the best viewing spot for 1st turn action and you can see about 80% of the track.

Yes, Mt. Morris looks awesome and fun going up and down the hills but I bet the actual 'racing' will be much more exciting at WW this weekend.

Post a reply to: WW looks boring.
