Cooper’s a kook. Like the time in sx when he cleaned out Sexton for no reason and took himself out in the process.

Cooper is a whiney little douchebag.
He very well be a whiney d-bag wheres the freebie though? He lead the moto until 5min or whatever was left. You don't know that AC would have passed him. Justin has shown to be pretty solid at the front. Except for his 2nd moto crash has anyone passed when leading a moto?

It's not a sure thing, but AC was catching him by well over a second a lap and there was still 7 minutes plus 2 laps to go when they threw the red flag. That means there was about 1/3 of the race left. There's a chance Cooper could've fought him off, but AC was hauling and more than likely would've taken the win.

Hmm 7min +2 laps is a good chunk of time I hear ya. I thought it was less and I was spacing on whole plus 2 laps

I'm surprised Cooper wasn't aware that a 2-1 beats a 1-2 Whistling

I guarantee you Cooper is really pissed off he’s just tempered his feelings a little bit because there’s been some backlash on social media about it
I agree with everything you said except "because there’s been some backlash on social media about it"
My guess is he watched the footage and read the rule book (or more likely was told the rule). I mean, if AC broke a rule...I don't think Justin would give a shit what social media is saying. He doesn't seem like that kind of person who says what he thinks the media wants to hear. He seems too straight forward and humble to play games like that.
....but I bet he thinks the rule sucks!

Its ok as long as he re enters 3 seconds behind the other rider ?

You’re leaving out the whole “at the next safest spot” clause. Of course I would have a problem if he cut the entire infield and waited a half a track away. That’s ridiculous. I thought that was a given.

So Honest question Should AC have went to the next available place as he did or Hit the Brakes turned around and went back on where he went off?
I know thats what they have been Doing but imo
It needs to be Changed.
The only time i see where you cant get back on in the same place is if you go over a Berm, if you go over a berm then enter immediately after the Berm.
So he should have wheelied over the banners and onto the track perpendicular to a fifth gear, wide-open uphill lane? Sounds perfectly safe.

Add to the current rule: off track speed limit 5 mph or get a 30 second penalty.

And how are they going to monitor a riders speed off track?

Just saw the video. Justin Cooper is a Pussy. He fell off his bike by himself. If he didn’t have the simple crash he MAY have been able to hold off AC.

After the interview I hope and pray anyone beats the baby.

Justin Cooper should have just been quiet about it and let his team manager file the protest. Maybe he learned that lesson now.

If you do make a mistake and come off the track, for safety reasons the rider should be made to go walking pace until he finds a safe place to get back on track. There’s nothing safe about pinning it around the outside of the track around workers, photographers, etc....

This is the only reasonable addition to the rule as it currently sits. Drop to first gear on your way to the next safe place.

I could be wrong but I swear the gap was 4.5 seconds and was 3.9 when the red flag came out two laps later. Not really sure AC was catching him like everyone thinks. I’ll need to rewatch to confirm but I just didn’t see the charge everyone keeps talking about.

Use to like that kid hey but now I'll use a old Southern Africa moniker for him " Poosay" and a bad judgment call on his team's brain surgeons Shyte tactics , A C just got another super fan.

I don’t know how Adam could have been more fair than he was. He only could get back on track where he did and then he hung back and actually ended up a tad farther back.
I have no idea what the shit cooper was complaining about. Made him look bad. It’s like dude he was still behind you.
I think he just seen it different and didn’t realize what happened and when he watches tape later he will be like oh yeah Adam was good.
Also there is nothing to protest. Now if he ended up in front of you then yeah but he didn’t and he didn’t gain any ground either.
Also Adam didn’t put the stupid banners there.

Justin Cooper sure doesn't do himself any favors when he does these interviews.

Yep, for someone that was going to go to college instead of racing, he doesn't think before he speaks. Maybe he's more book smart than common sense smart...

He really doesn't. I mean... I just think it's cool a kid from Long Island is running up front but it is hard to watch him with the press.

Maybe it is because he hasn't had enough time to learn the ropes in that arena? I mean look at AC... to me he is the benchmark but I would say he is used to the spotlight and knows how to handle it... something Cooper needs to work on.

Cooper is right. Adam hauled ass on the water truck lane and then slowed to let Justin by. There is NO WAY a mistake that takes one off track results in a one second loss of time. That was never the original intent of the rule. Comments here have my brain singing “Do you even race? Bro “.

Dude, the only reason AC had to go around that far was because of the sponsor banners lining the track. If not for that he could've immediately hopped back on the track without losing much time. Are you gonna punish a guy just because the AMA wants to generate extra revenue?

Also, he gave Cooper an extra 8-10 bike lengths that he didn't have before the mistake. AC did absolutely nothing wrong.

I can’t believe cooper is upset. What bothers me is cooper can’t seem to see he lost straight up.

Adam didn’t gain any time and then cooper went down and lost the race. How the shit is that Adams fault or the ama.

Dude you were leading and wrecked and you are bitching about something that went on behind you that had no bearing on you winning or losing. Makes no sense. Lost a fan here.

The logic used here leads me to believe that Justin ought to have picked his bike up from his crash, exited the track and re-entered ahead of Adam, since he was leading when he fell and he should not suffer a loss of significant time for his mistake. SMH

Re-entry at the next safe available entry spot is what the rule spells out. Do you really think people haven't thought of this??

What is the rule in MXGP for when a rider goes off the track? I’m curious to know if it’s the same. For everyone saying it’s stupid and it needs to be changed to make the rider turn around and re enter where they left the track, do you know how much of a shit show that would be? If a rider lost control and went off the track, they’re most likely trying to maintain control and focus on not crashing. They’re not paying attention the the exact point where they exited the track. Making them turn around and figure out that exact point would be very difficult and up to their interpretation and most likely would be off from the actual point they did exit the track. Then what? Penalize them cause they thought they got back on at the right spot but actually didn’t? That wouldn’t work.

Only solution is to move the banners and we know that’s not happening, so keep the rule.

How can anyone watch this and say "Yeah, this guy is cool. I'm gonna root for him!"

Dude, you crashed. You lost because of your own mistake. This is embarrassing.

And Adam didn't write the rule. I can agree there's improvement to be made on the rule, but as it says right now, AC followed it like you should.
It's strange to think some of the Einsteins on here believe AC did something wrong when he did exactly what the rulebook states he should do.

"So frustrating, they're favoring AC in the discussion". Yeah, because he was right.

"I felt I had the overall no matter what happened in the moto". Dude, you should probably focus on winning the moto and not crashing first.

Did he really just play judge/jury in the middle of the moto and just assumes AC is automatically DQd without even knowing what happened?

Motorcycle talent? You bet! Brains? Not so much.

There needs to be some kind of penalty for making a mistake that bad.
Normally the penalty is a crash😂 you shouldn’t get penalized for saving a gnarly crash, and where is everyone’s crying about Sexton in moto one?
