He was asked by Darkside in the presser if sitting on the line and watching AC throw it away changed his approach for the main. He answered “nah, not at all. He cracked, I didn’t”

Is the real Cooper Webb back? Was the pc version just a front?

Well, he spoke the truth.

Who is the Darkside guy and why does would he ask such a douchebag question? Webb wasn’t throwing shade, just pointing out the obvious.

I was debating this a buddy last night. If AC hits that same jump in the same rut, all things being equal except DF was in 15th, does he still crash?

It wasn't untrue, but in poor taste.

How is it a douchebag question? He was in the same position and was watching the worst case scenario play out in front of him.
It was obvious so why point it out?
Could easily have said something like 'No cause I was already very aware that it could only take a small mistake to take it all away' or joke about how it wasn't the best thing to watch knowing he was in the same boat..
Only a fuckwit would needlessly kick someone while they were maybe having the worst night of their life..

You guys can call it being 'PC' I just call it class

It’s Webb! It’s exactly the answer I expected given the place and time. His candor is ok with me.

There was nothing wrong with the question. My only issue was the shot he took at AC on probably one of the darkest nights of AC‘s life. There is no need for that. Tonight should’ve been all about him, he just won arguably the most prestigious title in all of dirtbike racing. It speaks volumes about his character that he took some of that time to take a shot at a former amateur rival.

Damn, I was just starting to come around to Coop, too.

Im sure there is zero love lost between coop and ac. Oop moved to 250's first and as soon as AC did, all the talk was how Coop was going to have his hands full, etc. well, 5 or so years later, Coop has 3 sx titles, 1 in 450's. AC has exactly zero and the talk is still about how amazing AC is.

Coop is a great rider with no class, that's all.

Also 1 Outdoor 250 championship as well.
He started that season hurt. He plugged along as he got healthier and faster, and at the end was dominant.

I would suspect that had Cooper crashed, lost the title and AC had won his that Cooper would have responded with "I cracked, he didn't." Seems like a pretty matter-of-fact kind of guy.

That’s a fair point. I could see him saying that.

It's a legitimate question, one that was on many of our minds.

As to darkside, I have no idea who that is, or what the name means.

I’m pretty sure that Darkside is the guy who used to sing “Get Your Ride On”.

He gave a straight-forward answer, but you guys complain because he didn’t phrase it as politely as you think he should’ve, lmao. He’s not wrong, AC cracked. I think he’ll be fine without you guys coming around to being a fan of his, seeing that he straight-up earned the championship with dudes shitting on him all year because they think he’s arrogant, cocky, etc.

At the beginning of the races, I thought "Cooper will probably get 5th." Safe.
After Cianciarulo's mishap, I thought "Cooper will probably get 10th." Safer.

I was wrong.

Bullshit comment by both IMO. apples and oranges. Does anyone actually believe the pressure "to crack" was the same considering one rider needed to finish top 5 versus finishing not in the last 2 places? Some of your drama queens love smack talk. I bet you love WWE too. Karma can be a real bitch. I'm sure AC can handle it.

Sometimes even if something is true, you don't say it. Do you tell your wife or girlfriend they look fat in their pants?

I had Cooper down for a safe 5th as well. He rode really well !
I don’t agree AC cracked and he should not of said that. The question was “What were you thinking on the line?” Obviously the answer is to stay focused and ride smart- what he had done all year. Throwing shade at AC on the worse night of his life is a POS thing to do!
AC made a mistake. (Something weird happened in rut near tuff block) It was very unlucky that he got up and the bike was unrideable, he would of been ok if not for that! Cracking under pressure would of been him getting 6th or multiple mistakes...
anyways bring on MX !

Absolutely... You don't get to the top of your profession without honestly believing you are better and more deserving than anyone else. His skills aren't in question, just his character.

Maybe. AC is moving up next year. A lot of motocross takes place between the ears. Webb was firing a shot across his bow. And it’s in his nature to think and speak like he does, it’s what got him the #1 plate last night.

If she asks, sure I tell her. Same with Cooper: ask a question, get an answer.. like it or not.
He told the truth and I like it.

I wonder if all the fan boys that think Jason Lawrence was good for the sport are the same ones that can't take a CHAMPIONS harsh, honest opinion.

Shade? He spoke his opinion on what happened & I don’t think it was far from the truth. AC obviously made a metal error in that section & came up short. He may of gotten distracted thinking about how he’s really about to finally win this. That’s why I like & respect Webb. He doesn’t sugar coat things for the people that get offended about everything & believe everybody else should adhere to their PC rules. Not everybody has that view on life. I’m a big fan of AC too. His personality is very likable & AC also speaks the truth about stuff & doesn’t sugar coat things. That’s why I’m a huge fan of him too, but at the same time I’m not going to lie to myself & pretend he didn’t crack because he did. AC will probably handle this better than some of you. Don't get so emotionally involved in kids racing dirtbikes. It’s a lot more enjoyable. ?

Geez would you make up your minds? JLaw has been gone forever but there's still threads with guys getting hard ons for that dude. All his talent and all he had at the end was a regional sx title and one National win. Dungey won a shit ton of races and titles but he was a "robot." So which is it? Webb runs his mouth but he wins and backs it up. I'm good with he says what he's thinking he's making me a fan and I shit all over him before this season
