Are my eyes playing tricks or is that another broken hub right next to it? Jeez, doesn't that guy torque his sprocket bolts EVER???

I’ve seen this with Talon sprockets (and others without the center ring)

I’ll stick with Renthal sprockets myself....

Agreed. I'll never use any type of sprocket like that. Weren't Vortex sprockets doing the same thing?

Every failure I have seen is without a center ring, had to be a structural design flaw, no matter the brand. Dirt Tricks or Sunstar Works Z for me.

Mika Metals has an awesome OTHG discount. Maybe he should buy a better sprocket.

Wonder how long it has been running bent or off center? Going by the rub marks.

That could have been the chain guide. The stock one rubs the sprocket.

I read about the problems with that sprocket design way back when from all places MXA . Seemed to make sense so I have avoided them regardless on manufacturer.

Same. I saw a buddy break a new Renthal chain on a CR250 back when they first came out and it left a lasting impression on me. I’m a firm believer in their sprockets and handlebars though.

the uneven pattern of the wear suggests a bent sprocket

I don't know everyone's not running a Dirt Tricks. I'll never run another sprocket.

Pro Taper makes some really strong sprocket's as well. I use both , although I really , really dig the Renthal twin ring.

I've looked at these , and I just can't wrap my head around how much metal " isn't " there. They look really cool , and I've heard good thing's about them , so I guess it's just a piece of mind thing for me on why I haven't ran one yet.

I bought my bike second hand, and it had a dirt tricks sprocket on it. That opened my eyes to how good they are. I ran it for 50+hrs, then sold the bike with It, still nearly looking like new.

I scooped up my first set a few weeks ago. It looks awesome! Hopefully it lasts as long as everyone says.

I used Ironman until Renthal was in their second year of their Twinring. Best damn sprockets ever imo.

You guys running these on 450's? Wondering how the would hold up on a 250 2 stroke? Gawd! ...... it's hard to look past the lack of materials on these things. But they sure do look sweet!

Answer is pretty simpe: cost.
I can buy both sprockets AND a good chain for the price of 1 dirt tricks sprocket.

I put almost 50 hours on my 350 with one. Currently almost 30 hours on my tc250 and just put one on my rmz450.

And both sprockets will wear out in less time than the dirt tricks. Plus the hassle of replacing the sprockets. And RE torquing the sprocket bolts.
