I went through that whole Thread, i have been really interested in a Mid sized pit bike lately, i kinda picture the really small ones like a clown type look, and the KLX140 and CRF150 size to be more more like a mini 250f
,that McGrath replica in that thread is super sweet. But it seems to me Like a CRF150R the rider triangle is smaller because it was made more with kids racing in mind.
The KLX140 seems more opened up , and so does the YCF Bigy, they Have a 150 Bigy for i think $2100, and an upgraded bigy 150 with better suspension etc for $2500
And then The Daytona 190 for $3500.
Im Guessing because ive never Seen one in person
But im picturing the 150 to be closer to a KLX 140.
And that 190 people say is a powerful bike more like a 250f
Im Not sure the weight on any of them , all i know is less than 210.
But they seem like a very good value to me, im leaning towards the YCF.
You’re definitely right about the 150R triangle being smaller, or at least having a smaller feel. The 140 feels way more spacious, and the 150F feels a hair bigger than a 140. The 150F is noticeably heavier though, it can feel like a tank on smaller tracks. The 140 is more nimble, like you can turn and put it wherever you want.

That 190 motor on the bigy is fast, not quite rip your arms off fast, but it definitely has a lot of get and go. You’ll probably ride it more like a 450, not WFO.
I’ll say this though, all the Chinese bikes I’ve ridden have felt weird. Probably just need more time on one, but something just feels off on them.

I’m biased, but I think if you’re going to be investing $3500 into a bike, I’d go the 140 route. For $3500 you can build a sweet 140.

I never new this existed until a couple of months ago, even though its been available long before i knew about it ,
But the reason i was excited about it is because its the closest ive seen to coming stock the way i would want it.
Which in a nutshell is just a midsize play bike with decent suspension travel without having to change it.

My KLX125, do a little work to it ever now and then. Have about $1500 in it ($.750 for bike, $150 ebay kx100 forks, $100 kx100 swingarm, $200 KX100 wheel set, $50 CR80 shock, $25 kx85 fender, $20 kx85 number plate, $75 graphics, $200 exhaust) Next project would be to get some more HP out of it. Heard old Suzuki LT185 top end bolts on, been watching craigslist hoping to find one but no luck so far.

I just bought two '19 140's (an L model and a regular) . They are sweet! You can jump pretty good sized stuff in stock form. They are super comfortable for 6' riders as well. We used to have TTR125's and they were fun but the new Kawis are a little higher quality (frame and wheels) than the stock TTR at the same price. They are also way roomier than a CR150r. I'm not sure why but they just are (TTR and KLX )

I have a couple 140s too. I bought a 150R roller for a potential conversion, but after sitting on it it felt a lot smaller than my 140. I kinda scrapped the conversation idea after that.

Back to the OP, none of those bikes will really compare to a modded 85. It’s just an apples to oranges comparison. If you’re looking for a bigger pitbike though, I highly recommend a KLX140L (L, not the small wheel 140). You can swap 85/100 suspension on, get springs made for your weight, and if you’re feeling wild, there’s a lot of motor stuff for this bike in Indonesia. There’s a website called SXParts.com and he sells 2 different bore kits, BV heads, and even stroker cranks now. I just rode a 140 with the bigger bore kit, BV head, stroker, and 28 carb... The thing was a torque monster, and stupid fast.
Do you still have the 150R roller?

From what I've been reading I want the LT185 cylinder and piston, but the LT230 cam? Don't think the head in that ad would help much, but thanks for the heads up.

I have a 2015 DRZ 125L I put on Renthal mini high bars, a Pro Circuit pipe and put spacers in the forks to make them stiffer. My local track will have pit bike races a couple times a year on a small arena type track under the lights on some weekends. With these little mods the bike is a blast to ride in these fun races. Its also fun to just tool around on and play ride.

Wow That bike so so sweet it looks Just like a little 250f
And what a deal im pretty sure almost all of us would pay $1500 for that, personally i lack the skills and tools to Do that so the price wouldn't be just the bike and parts,
It would also be a lot of labor.
I wish the Factorys make bikes similar to this, this is the picture ive had in my mind for years.
Ever since Langtown when i was 12 yrs old.

Finally got to get my “big mini” out for a rip. Klx 155 28mm keihin pwk, ktm65 forks, two bros +4 swingarm with an old school long travel racetech shock. It’s a ripper!! Still working on fabbing up mount for the rear brake master so don’t mind the lack of rear brakes lol

I’m 6’2” and this has been the most fun mini I’ve ever ridden

22hp from what I’m told. Tbolt sells a 212cc kit that I might try in the future.

Here is a 2 yr old KLX140 barely ridden that the guy is asking $2,400 for.

6 yr old CRF150 the guy is asking $1700 for. Doesn't look abused.
https://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/d/monroe-honda-crf150f/6849690502…

I kind of like the idea of the KLX140 or CFR150 just from a price standpoint for my size.

I just bought 2 2021 YCF Bigy Daytona 190cc. The price is well worth it with fully adjustable suspension front and rear. Plenty of upgrade parts once they are in stock. 212cc motor upgrade kit which I am going to install on one of the 190's.

Think about with a stock KLX140 or CRF150. By the time you do any upgrades it will cost the same as the YCF Daytona 190 bike. Done tell me you will leave it stock because I don't really know anyone that keeps any pit bike stock unless you can't afford it at the present time but in the long run you will want more out of your stock bike. I'm just being honest with myself and so should you.

BRAAAAAP!!

Have a CRF100 with CR85 usd front forks and the works shock...motor wise, has the BBR 125 top end kit. Dig the bike but not the kinda HP other larger pitbikes have.

Picked up a new YCF Biggy 190 at the beginning of the year and holy moly that thing has some umph! Suspension and motor are nice...only rub I've had with it is the rear disk wants to drag due to the rear brake pedal not wanting to return all the way. Have taken the pedal assembly apart and lubed it up but it seems to need a strong return spring? Anyone else with a YCF noticed this?

Have always been an RC fan so put some old school Makita Suzuki graphics on it.

Got a couple of the Orion 150's and love 'em, you can't touch the price at $1550, street legal, e-start and oil cooler. The new models are on the way, and the big change is going from 14/12 wheels to 19/16 and stretching the frame a bit to make them fit. The only issue I ever had was fitting my legs under the bars, so...

Yes my buddy has had the same issue with his rear brake pedal. We installed a nice almost unnoticeable return spring. I will have him take some pics and will post is here for you 'mooch'. I do have to agree with the YCF 190 they rip and my other 190cc is now a 212cc. I am use to my CRF450 power and have to say YCF has done their homework that's for sure and they are building a sick pit bike. Will submit my pics soon.

Thanks, good to know I'm not the only one with a brake pedal issue on the YCF. The whole brake pedal setup seems kinda over engineered in a funky way, yet doesn't work well for a few reasons:

- it sticks and causes the rear brake to drag.
- pedal is huge and hangs below the frame which makes it cumbersome to get the bike on a stand and be stable.

Riding the 190 on a small indoor track in the winter, seemed I was on the verge of a whiskey throttle at any point in time Smile ...the 212 upgrade must really haul. Once I got it on an outdoor track when the weather warmed up the power came in handy and was much more manageable.

Also one other thing I noticed. When I got mine home, I noticed the rear wheel was hard to turn and that wasn't due to the brake. Turned out someone (factory, shop?) had torqued down soooo hard on the rear axle nut that I had a hell of a time getting it to break loose with a 2 foot long breaker bar. WAY too tight and when I went to put the axle nut back on, I couldn't get the cotter pin back in the axle unless that nut was super tight. Screw that, bought a castle nut so I could get the cotter pin back in without over torqueing the nut. Other than that, stuff on it is nice.

I hear you there. Yanick the owner of YCF said they are redesigning the rear brake pedal soon so hope they come out with something like over the peg style. Yeah i always loosen everything out of the box and re-torque the bolts for the reason like you had with your rear wheel nut. Over torqued is bad for the bearings.

I can't wait for my 2 2021's to get here. I have tons of red anodized for one and green anodized for the other. pics will be soon bud.

Yeah I agree we have 2 bone stock 110s and it is a freaking blast.

Mooch, curious who did your graphics?

SSR is junk. There’s decent stuff from China but that isn’t it. Pitster Pro was decent, especially for the money, a few years ago when I was into pitbikes. Not positive if it’s still that way though.

I meant to include a pic of a YCF that was in a thread the other day, it looked like a Villopoto replica .
My YCF is BigY Daytona 190cc is the best pit bike I have owned to date. It rip and i can keep up with my buddy on his CR125..lol I 5'11" 250 and it still has plenty of power to rip. BTW I am also 48 and still ripping it up. lol Big kid at heart right here. A little adjustment to the suspension and your good. I raced since i was 8 and quit professionally at 35. I still have fun just in a smaller version..lol

Kijen and Xmotoxer...Stickman graphics. Have used him for big bike and pitbike stuff and he's super easy to work with. I knew he had the pattern for YCF Bigys as he also did the #2 Yamaha Bigy.
