VW Transporter is sooo overpriced. Great thread though. I've had some good vans in my years but I'm currently doing the car and trailer. It sucks!

They do not.

Haha. My wife (before she was my wife) got it on in my Astro many a time. She's a keeper.

Yeah but fugg! At one stage they had the 3.2 V6 with DSG from the Golf R32 (sounds tits with an exhaust) and a Bi-Turbo diesel, pretty awesome! My brother has a T5 Caravelle and my mate had a T5 Multivan (for less than a year until he hit a Roo) and both bitch/bitched about them, booooo, hisssssss. Still the best van I've never owned but always wanted..Laughing

Edit: Workshops are sick too... Make one for them too. I won't have to go to garagejournal.com.

For the OP here’s a couple pics of my setup, I just finished my bed platform and it can be raised and lowered to whatever height I need. Before I got this done I just threw an air mattress next to my bike, but now I can sleep with two in there no problem. Getting the back all set up is a long and never ending project, but it’s pretty nice to have once it’s all done.

that bed setup is tits!

Dirtbike + Van = (the most effective turnoff money can buy)^2. It's exponentially effective!

Now if you've got a lifted diesel that runs like shit, a Juul, and compulsively yell "lets GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" when anything even remotely interesting happens you'll be fighting poon off with a spare set of handlebars bro.

With that said I sill recommend the van. A Sprinter was the first thing I bought when I got out of school and it was the best thing I ever did, I'm never going back to a truck for hauling bikes.
BEST POST EVER!!!!!

*I own a sprinter/dirtbike and can 100% validate this statement...

Thanks for the laughs JM!!

Bought a 2014 Promaster. Pretty surprised at how nice it drives. Still a work in progress and trying to figure out how I want to finish the front. I have enough left over bamboo to cover the front floor but don’t think I like it. May go with cedar on the walls/ceiling also. Any opinions/suggestions?

Just bring a bathroom along and they will go anywhere.

Even it it took a dump, selling it for parts could let you recoup the cost as it is in good shape.
Cargo vans like that are all over NY and NJ.

cant beat the van for going to the track. however it is the worst thing ever to drive around town or daily. sold my van to go back to a truck n trailer which is equally a pain in the dick to store and move around the trailer

Because they immediately know all your money will be going to the bike, van and your racing instead of their clothes from the mall.

Cargo vans like that are all over NY and NJ.
Most vans of that year in the North East are rust buckets.
That price and a rust free van is not to be found up here.
