I love seeing the team managers/owners get fired-up and tell race control they're a bunch of morans.

Then he gets the rap Dungey got, you know, when he ended Stewart's career.
Webb's "mistake" resulted in traveling a distance 32% shorter than Tomac's.
I also inserted a white line to show what I think would be a tight, inside line used in a conventional block pass and Webb still traveled 10% less distance.
Scenario 1: The pass happens two corners later.
Scenario 2: The pass never happens...Tomac stays in front of him and ends up winning the championship by 1 point (because that accidental pass doesn’t happen). Not unlikely considering how one lined the track was.
Scenario 3: A lap later Webb is getting desperate to make a pass, forced the issue on the inside, comes up short on the triple, blows half the spokes out of his front wheel, or maybe a lapper gets in his way and he crashes and breaks off his clutch lever, or twists up the front end, and either DNF’s or finishes outside the top 15. Championship points tighten up, Tomac and Marvin and Ken get a ton more motivation and confidence and they come out swinging and the last rounds because they honestly believe they have a shot at this...all the pressure gets to webb and one of them win the title.
My point is that the ramifications of this accident could be far more than just the small amount of time he gained in that corner.
Penalize him a position. It’s the right thing to do.
Not doing do is 3 position penalty, from the final results.
So lame seeing someone go off the track and pin it down the plywood.
Pit Row
1. Unintentionally cut a corner and gain a time and/or angle advantage.
2. Intentionally make a pass in same corner.
3. Ride away.

How to get everyone on board with a poorly governed sport:
1. Play on emotion and avoid logic.
2. Make it so you don’t get to be in the club if you refuse to kiss ass.
3. Add money.
4. Ride away.
That XL helping of truth is gonna step on some delicate feelings though.
