If the secret downvoters would like to dispute it, we could always go to the record books. Who has more sx wins? How about national titles?
Down voter here, Stewart definitely wins the lawn dart competition.

Also, Stewart never ran the number 22 and I'm pretty sure Reed never wanted the numbers 259 or 7

He has more wins in a shorter period, and when both finished the season together, Stew won out. It’s not really debatable.

You have to go back a full 10 years to find a SX series where Stewart beat Reed in a season they both finished. Even then there was only 4 points in it.
What makes anyone think that would be any different now?

I mean you're not talking about either of them at their peak, so it's irrelevant what their careers or head to head was like...

What's relevant is now. You're talking about one dude who's sustained far less injuries, particularly to the head, who's still racing to a bloody respectable level compared to another dude who appears to be full time Dad-ing it, belly and all.

Give James an off-season and perhaps you have a different story but even then, he wasn't himself in 2014. In fact, since he got popped he wasn't himself. You could argue as far back as 2012 or even 2009 at his last title.

He came back in 2016 and beat Dungey and Roczen at the 2016 straight rhythm. While not an actual sx race, that’s still impressive.

"Don't matter how long I'm off. Don't matter how old you think I am, if you think I'm washed up. I'm still a bad motherfucker."

That, that right there is all James needs to say.

I'm just glad I got to see Stewart race a few times in his prime. Amazing stuff. Seems as if Reed has taken the opportunity to repay James for the Unadilla deal, has anyone got any good clips of that?

JS and Reed rivalry is fake news. JS always had him covered.

One of the baddest mother fuckers ever, I might add. Along with Chad Reed. This is just another fanboy "my guy is better than yours" type of thread.

Everyone underrates Reed's chances
Everyone overrates Stewart's chances

Stewart's comeback to racing has the same chance of happening as Dale Earnhardt's.

You may want to examine those records a little closer. Except for the Lites class (chad only lites 2 years), they have the same number of titles, indoors and out. JS has 6 more SX wins than Chad, which is cool, but not dominating by any stretch. Its cool to be a fan of the guy, but your facts are wrong and your opinion is biased.

Last man standing is the name of the game, who is still racing and currently sets 7th in points?

Reed never beat Stewart for a title when they raced together for the series, where as Stewart did beat Reed. Stewart was almost always faster and could catch and pass Reed almost at will in his prime as evidenced by how quickly James amassed his wins. Reed had been in the class for two seasons before James entered. James did a 24-0.
Stats, while a big part of it, aren’t the entire picture. Dungey has as many sx titles as RV, and not many more wins. Dungey has more 450 outdoor titles and wins than RV, but most people agree that RV had Dungey covered, much like Stewart did Reed.

Also, when looking at all-time greats, lites records are included. I don’t think that there’s much of an argument James will higher on the list than Reed.

Stats dont lie, you can say it as much as you want, but the record books dont lie. Since you want to play the he only won because card, who was Stews main competition when he went 24-0? Oh, thats right........

Cody Cooper at Unadilla and Tim Ferry at Steel City. That is pretty much the only times he was pressured.
