My guess is both John and Eli will show up at Daytona.
Can't believe someone gave that a thumbs down,

If he wants to get the ball rolling, this would be an excellent track for him to do so. I’m not sure that this particular track with all the long lanes and lack of corners is 100% tomac style but he will probably win or 6th.

All i want is roczen, tomac and marv ahead of webb. It will make the championship even more interesting. And im also not a big fan of webb.

For the sake of the series, I hope Eli comes through the field and gaps everyone. That will get some excitement going, and maybe let Webb know that he isn't the fastest man in the series. Nothing worse than watching a series that is over at the half way point.

Neither Roczen or Musquin have shown that they have anything for Webb so far this year. I could see Eli going on a win streak late in the series, and Webb trying to just "manage" the championship to the end. If Webb doesn't hold on to the championship, then Eli will win. However, I think that Eli will put on a late series charge, as he has done in the past, but come up just short at the end.

I think we all know what tomac will show up. Arguably his best “supercross” track. I think he’s gonna be fast and confident and come out swinging with a win. I also think Kenny rebounds for a second. Tomac and Kenny make a late charge for this title at the end. I think Webb struggles and gets a 5th or so. I could be completely off but just my guess

X2. I don’t mind Webb but they need to finish ahead of Webb at some point. How many times has MM been faster but just couldn’t pass him and then he makes a mistake or crashes. Time to force your way in there to make a pass even if he’s a teammate.

Between the year he was manueling the rollers, his wins, and his crazy ride last yr i think its safe to say daytona is a “Tomac” crowd. The dude just entertains and it also seems to be the biggest crowd of the year by far. I would LOVE for Eli to show the Intimidatior some love, the fans would absolutely love it... not to mention send a little message to the competition...

That is the problem with Tomac. You never know what to expect from him. He could come from 10th to win, or go from 1st to 12th.

Yup... on board with you guys. I am cheering for a close championship.

Nothing against Webb... he earned my respect with his MXoN rides... will always be a fan. I just think we will see a lot more of him in the future. Alternatively... time is running out for the other 3 to grab a SX championship.

In 2016, his first year on the Kawi, he was struggling with the bike and getting his groove back from his ‘15 shoulder injury, and he still won Daytona. He’s my favorite for the weekend, but he’s surprised me in the wrong ways before. Lol

I'm all for it! I'd love to see beast mode Eli show up and then have Webb, Roczen and Marv in a throwdown for second. I'm wondering if Zacho and Plessinger don't have their best 450 rides on Saturday night as well. Should be awesome.

edit; Eli should rock an Intimidator graphics kit with the same font #3 as Dale used to run.

I think this will be Zach's week to get settled in as well... Expecting a top 5 from him. The field is deep.

I want to say that this weekend defines his season for him. Another average finish and I think its safe to say he's out of the hunt (assuming everyone finishes roughly where they have been). Webb could run a 3rd or 4th and its no big deal, same said for Moose or Kenny, even Baggett - if one of them win, great, they're still in the chase with a nice break out ride. However, for Eli, I think a 4th or 5th or whatever reiterates that he's just not on it this year like years past, whereas a win (or even better, a convincing win), spices things right back up again.

After being so close yet so far in both 17 and 18, it would be such a shame to see him have a 3rd consecutive SX season where he was the odds on favourite to win it, only to lose it.

Maybe I'm putting Daytona on a pedestal, but I feel like if the season is gonna turn for him, its going to, or has to, happen here.
I agree with this. If the season is going to turn for him it has to happen here and now at Daytona. I do expect him to win Daytona, but that does not necessarily mean he has turned things around.

You can make the argument that this is the biggest race of Tomac’s career. I think it is. If he loses points again this week it’s over for him.

He's going to drop the bike 3 times.
One time after he sets fastest qualifying

One time after he wins his heat race

and one time after he wins the main....

Riiiight, because not winning at the highest possible level racing a dirt bike is "choking". Got it.

I’m not sure Tomac even knows which version of himself shows up. Some day’s just click. Other’s not so much.

I don't know what to thing about Tomac anymore honestly. He can can faster than ANYONE (yes ANYONE) in the world at times. But it just seems like some days (a lot more lately) he is just like, "Yeah, not gonna crush it today. Oh well."

As I said in an earlier thread, Tomac in in his 9th season as a pro. Carmichael, Villopoto, and Dungey all retired at or near that number of years also. It could very well be that he is just over it all to the point where he is still willing to put in some effort but doesn't have the edge he once had.
