I so badly want to like this game but just can’t seem to get over the following:

1) cornering is a joke- According to this game unless you’re practically stopped, you’d need a parking lot the size of a football field to turn the bike around even while turning and leaning as much as possible. Just isn’t realistic

2) Mods are pointless- Just like every other Milestone MX game, I can’t tell one iota of difference between a stock 250 and fully modded 450.

3) Jumps- if you mess up a rhythm section, you’re toast. In real life if you case a jump you can easily get back in flow but in the game you’re basically f’d the entire rest of the section which is beyond fake. As if a factory 450 doesn’t have enough power to clear the next jump. In the game you’ll case every preceding jump after messing up one.

In order to effectively turn you need to utilize the left stick properly by turning INTO the turn a hair before turning the direction you want to go. You also need to use BOTH brakes and DOWN SHIFT accordingly. It is THE most realistic handling bike in any video game ever built.

When you mess up a rhythm you need to down shift back to first. Then you can double from the bottom of usually any g-out and start getting the flow back. Again very realistic.

Give it time bro. There is definitely a "slow down to go faster" theory behind this game vs the 1st one.
Forgot to ask... Out of curiosity, are you able to decipher noticble differences in performance when adding/subtracting mods and/or moving from the 250 to 450 in this game? Because i for one cannot but perhaps I’m just dense...

I couldn't really tell any difference in performance for my 250. First career race with no mods and second race last night fully modded - couldn't tell any difference. Maybe it is because I suck at riding?

How about a Press Conference Mod? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHlKO4oSaMQ

I notice a pretty drastic change from the 250 to a 450. I can't do the Baggett quad at Tampa on the 250 and I have to double or roll most big jumps on a super wet track, whereas a 450 makes these all much easier.

It took me a while to figure out how to get the bike to turn. Half of it is bike settings and the other half is just learning how. You have to use the manual transmission. Knock it down to 2nd or 1st going into the corners and it'll turn sharper. If you're trying to turn in 3rd gear, it's going to be like trying to get a Cadillac to make a Uturn.
stock setting and auto trans and I have no issues being fast in corners. I even have a few top 100 lap times.

I don’t have issues with bowls or burms just flat corners such as after the start. That where it seems to want to turn like a Cadillac(at least with auto trans) when maintaining any sort of speed.
In those big sweepers, feather the front brake. If I feel the bike pushing, I'll just feather the front brake button a little and it drops the front of the bike and brings it back in line. It takes some practice, but it'll eventually become intuitive.

Steer with the rear wheel. There is a fine line between power sliding and high-siding. If you can find that line and stay just below it, it is cornering nirvana. I won't tell you that I can do it consistently, but when I do, it brings a smile to my face.

Trust me, I have come close to breaking my controller on several occasions over the course of learning this game, but once you finally come to terms with the physics, it is incredibly rewarding.

Has anyone fully modded and raced every brand/bike (450) yet? Any noticeable differences between bikes? Opinions?

Not sure, but did anyone notice that all the top guys running in the DMR series are using the KTM?

Hotfix Patch now available
Hey all, we're rolling out a hotfix to solve some crashes occurring in custom tracks. We'd also go a bit more in-depth in the online fixes on the last patch: Improved online in-game data replication: animations and player racing behaviors now are replicated in a more smooth and natural way. You will now see your opponents in a more fluid and precise way. Let us know how is this working for you.

Thanks man. Online has been a lot better lately, but I haven’t played a full Lobby in a few weeks. Been avoiding it because of the chaos, I’ll have to check it out again.

A couple buddies and I recently started racing in an online PC race series called DMR. We've done 2 rounds so far (Anaheim 1 and Houston) and the turn out has been pretty impressive. 100 people signed up to race yesterday between the 250 and 450 class.

If anyone's on PC and interested in joining in on the fun, I'll give you a run down in how it works. After signing up online before the race, we join the DMR discord on Mondays at 5PM (PST) and check in during riders meeting. From there we are split into qualifying sessions. We run two 10 minute qualifying sessions and the DMR admins then take the time to crunch the numbers from all of the qualifying lobbies and combine them in order from first to last. Top 24 in times head to a heat race and the rest head to a C or D class race depending on how many people signed up. In both heat races the Top 6 riders advance to an A Main while the bottom 6 make up a B Main race. There's points allotted for both A and B mains and even C class riders get at least a point for participating.

If you guys want to check out what it's like here's a youtube video below by my buddy Kellen from yesterday's race at Houston. On top of that we have 4 or 5 guys (including myself) streaming the races live on Twitch and Youtube every Monday. If anyone has any questions or is interested in joining the series, check out the DMR discord or just reply here / PM me. Would be cool to get even more people involved on top of the community they've already built.

I still cant corner for shit. I'll rail the berm and it'll shoot me from the outside of the berm to across the track and into the tuff blocks. Or I go so slow I almost tip over. I never gelled with the two stick system.

I didn’t start having fun with this game until I gave up on career mode and starting playing with the pro riders who already have the physics maxed out. I get some people want to do the career mode and I will probably finish it later but it was easier for me to learn the game by playing in a series or doing time trials with the physics maxed.
I also put everything on Advanced except the rider weight. That is on semi. I’m going to turn that off pretty soon because I have gotten it down pretty well now.
I think people get frustrated trying to learn this game with the bad physics before you do all the training. I know I did.

I rode the Honda 450 for a bunch of seasons and it was pretty good. I also toyed with the Yamaha and Kawi 450s and they were both good. I swapped over to the husky and WOW. It is SO good. It is fast and it feels like a massive improvement turning wise.

I did try like 2 races on the Suzuki and let’s just say I haven’t gone back. It feels like an absolute dog. Lol.

Try this rule of thumb -

Corner Entry

At this stage any time you use the left stick (to go left or right) also use the right stick by pushing it forward. Bike leaned over with LH stick, rider weight over bars with RH stick.

Corner Exit

Very similar to corner entry. At the apex, get on the gas and try to rear steer, still leaning the bike and getting the rider forward. Being forward should help the rear flick around.

The tricky part is knowing when to straighten up (ie let go of the sticks). The solution is to look as far forward as you can while also learning each corners rhythm.

If you feel a high side coming on, tap the rear brake WITHOUT getting off the gas

This is fascinating to watch! So smooth and consistent riding!

This may explain the inconsistencies between the editor bike ( a Husky) and the Yami I am using once my tracks are in the game mentioned in a previous post.

Stand by for further testing....

I thought I was going crazy but apparently I'm not alone.

Strange the bikes are all the same price and don't have any noticeable graph changes when you go to the customization menu.

I wonder if there is a way to look up the different stats.

Just played for the first time. Not a fan so far. Maybe it’ll grow on me. I hate how one mistake in a rhythm and you have to roll through the rest. It should mess you up absolutely but you shouldn’t single single single single single till you get to the next turn.

Yeah I'm still trying to work out when I can let go of the stick in some turns too.. It seems like it's 'not steer, not steer, not steer, boom on a dime into the inside tough blocks' haha can get pretty frustrating.. I can't turn on flat turns for the life of me either, but I'm assuming that has more to do with not being able to use both sticks..

Still havin heaps of fun but I've just downloaded Dirt Rally 2 so I'll prob never play it again after my first 450 c'ship haha

Not sure if its been mentioned but I feel like the ability to seat bounce, say press down joystick should allow you to get pop once you case and get momentum back up. Also aid in jumping into rhythms from insides etc.

Any one know how to get Shift gear or the fasthouse gear?
There’s so many riders on the gate that have that gear set up but you can’t get it in customisation!!

And what is the most fun online track? I’ve played a few in most downloaded but none where really layer out smooth and fun.. any suggestions of tracks to play?

Also. Super new to this game and gaming. Legit Bought an Xbox just so I could play this game. So sorry for asking dumb questions if it is a dumb question hahaha

You can’t get those gear sets, I don’t think we ever been able to get shift in any of the Milestone games, they prob where not able to get right to use the gear for other then the pro riders.

One thing that I've found super annoying is how the AI acts. They seem to have super speed sometimes going through whoops and sand sections. It doesn't matter what I do in Vegas for example, after the first turn through the sand, they blow by me. But then I can destroy them everywhere else. They also seem to be "stuck" to certain lines like riding on rails. If you're going through a flat corner and tuck on the inside of them, you can't move them out of the way. One time I slammed into a rider on the inside and pushed him about 5-10 feet outside and he was pulled all the way back to the line he was running in like a rubber band effect, if that makes sense.

am i the only one that feels like the turning is way better after this update they just sent out? or am i imagining things?

try “Baltimore SX” on xbox

How do you get the #1 plate? Is it through "Championship" or through career? I just won the 450 championship and it's not available.. Hmm..
2/27/2019 7:57am
And when are they going to come out with more gear for the game, instead of the generic stuff that has been in there before...

finding good tracks can be hard. asking around for good tracks can be hard too cause everyone thinks the track they made is good lol. i just put up a couple tracks that i think are fun. search “Vital SX” and “Baltimore SX” on xbox. hope you have fun

also, does anyone know if you can search by gamertag instead of just by track names? if you can’t, you should lol.
