Wow! Props to Reed. He's a fierce competitor and one of the all time greats!

Look, I like Chad Reed. Who doesn't like Chad Reed? But, c'mon ...

Remember when he went over to run in a couple MXGP races in 2016? People here were saying he'd run top 5 at Matterley Basin, maybe podium, as if he were gonna just drop in and mix it up with Gajser, Cairoli and Febvre. (Turns out Febvre was hurt and didn't run, but we didn't know that.) Reed ended up running 14th and 17th and I don't even know if he got any TV screen time.

What does this have to do with Reed, who just finished 5th, being competitive in 2019 SX?

If by ahead you mean wrong - then sure.

One of the worst character flaws a person can have is not being able to admit when they’re wrong. Kind of like when reed made you look stupid two nights ago. You say “doesn’t count” because of rain like a 3rd grader.

So he can’t top five. Well he can so I’m only counting it if these exclusions are met. That’s your idiotic logic. In 10 years, look back at the records. There is no rain asterisk.

Might should be one on your high school diploma.

He still believes he can. He's healthy and on a good team, what do you think?
Can’t you have a third choice?

Obviously he can. Mud or no mud, top 5 in this field is incredible.

He looked competitive last night coming from 12th to 7th following Tomac through the pack. He is currently 8th in the points, just 1 point behind Baggett in 7th.

He’s right where most expected him to be. If Anderson, Osborne, Mookie and Justin Hill we’re there he’d be right at 10th-15th like most expected with a full gate.

Possibly. He is riding better than he did last season though.

And if RV, RD and JS hadn’t retired he wouldn’t even have a ride! Wait, and then Webb wouldn’t be at KTM ... does he stay blue? what about AP? ... and what about Savatgy ..... would Hill and Malcolm even have rides ... would James crash out ......

and to use a Grant Langston quote "if my aunt had balls, she would be my uncle"

He did finish a race in front of Anderson, finished several in front of Hill, and Mookie. So your point is what? That there are several people who can go faster in a couple laps than chad reed can? Reed is also smart enough to know he has to make through the season, that's why he has been able to be competitive for this many years.

Reeds races have shown mostly improvement, and he already has a top 5. I would say there will probably be at least a few more before the season is over.

Moving forward amongst the “freight-train” last night was a pain in the ass.

Once again, The Chad is reminding us to NEVER count him out.

I’m jus’ knowin’...

Well if were speaking like that, that means if he didn't crash in 2012 he would of won title, if he didn't crash in 14 he would of won title, if he didn't crash at Millville that time, he would of won the title? If James didn't finish that year at Vegas, Chad would of won the title.

The guys a bad dude, saying he wouldn't have a ride and is 10-15 place guy you guys are dreaming, its super cross.. People get injured, coulda shoulda woulda. Outperforming his team mate every round, passed Bacia, Wilson, Bogle fair and square? Credit where its due, He podiums before end of the year providing staying healthy... stamp it

My point was, “what if” is nonsense.
Discounting any rider’s achievement because of others crashes, injuries, etc., shows a lack of understanding about the nature of the sport.
And as you showed, what if’s are endless.
I’m a Reed fan, I know.Wink

And if Reed didnt age he would be on the podium every week with more wins than the rest of the field combined. As it stands now he has as many wins as the top 5 riders combined.

If RC and JS didnt age and kept at it the rest of the field would be lucky to get on the podium. But age and injuries are part of the sport. Injuries can be avoided though. There's no avoiding age.

Well said, I don't know why people shit on somebody who is yes older and not as fast as his hay day, but still enjoys racing his dirt bike and is still pretty damn good at it. Nobody should be able to tell you to stop something because your a few years older, when his time is up, he will know and we should respect and enjoy it while he's still around.mi know I do.

And he passed Baggett to get to second before Tomac destroyed everyone.

Reed even had a crack at the big jumps. Nearly crashed late hitting it and amazingly didnt lose a position.
