6-8 at the start of the season.
How do you know that towards the end of the season he won’t be one of the injured?

Ill take that bet with 1 stipulation, if he has an injury that takes him out of races then bet is null.

Last year at this time Reed had under 2 hours of riding after his injury in RBSR. He went trough whoops first time in wednesday before A1. He had new private bike, with 0 testing. And then he qualified straight from his heat to main in A1.

This year he has been riding more than ever. He has been in shape trough Off season. And he has a factory bike, and lots of testing time with great team.

He's been a lapper for years. Not sure why everyone suddenly thinks he's going to be great again. He's an 8th-15th place guy like 2017 at best. The field is even better now. He will not see a podium.

He will be competitive in the top ten .. He wont have enough intensity to hang on the first 5 laps with the young crew. A podium maybe but mostly around 7 to 12 which is still impressive at 37

I feel likes it is just the opposite. I’m about t turn 52 and my reflexes and reaction time on everything atound me is still quick, but fitness for endurance is well behind my younger years. Of course, o don’t train or exercise like these guys do. I feel like Reed will be able to hang with the top dogs in the early laps, but if his fitness level to run that pace is even slightly off, then fatigue will lead to loss of focus, and that’s where the little mistakes will come into play causing a drop off of pace. It he gets in a groove and is feeling the flow on any given night, the adrenaline will overcome the fatigue and we may get a race.
That's where the all the "enhancing" drugs come into play. A little EPO (with a "therapeutic does exemption), HGH, Testosterone "replacement" therapy, some Adderall. and some thyroid "therapy" and boom---. Minus 15 years from your current age.

That is a pretty crazy bet considering he finished 13th last year, overweight, out of shape, and started the season with a foot he wasn't even supposed to be walking on.

He will be more competetive in SX than he would be in MXGP, thats for sure! Top 5-10 in SX.

It's a case of beer, least I can do. Rather that than eat crow... not all that crazy, another year older and a pretty stout field, initially anyway.

There's many things and people in this life that I would doubt. Chad Reed is not one of them.

I like your odds... 4-5 new young guys that will be throwing it in hard to make a name and become the next Chad Reed and only a couple top 10 guys out are going to push a 37 year old down the standings a little...

It’s so funny. The guy will turn 37 this season, and folks are still arguing about whether or not he’ll be competitive.
Anti-fans are still worried he’ll have something. Folks were calling him washed up in 2010. How do they explain him blowing by Dungey and Seely for 2nd in 2017?
And just look at the list of riders who didn’t get the ride.
It’s stunning that he’s lining up with a factory ride. Fans and anti-fans should just relax and see what happens. It’s already a win.

When 4 TOP riders move up into an already heavy class top 5s just arent as easy... with 3 champions and Savatgy being on the edge of one and holding many red plates adding 4 of that caliber racer already leaves 1 spot for a top 5 without even considering last years champ and all the rest of the talent of the class the Elis, Roczen, Ando, Barcia, Musquin... thats 5 more equalling 9 World class sx riders plus Reed- 10 talking about top 5s...idk.

This class is ungodly stacked, top 10 is yesteryears top 5. Thats 9 beasts already without even adding Webb, Hill, Seely, Baggett... 4 more lol. Top 10 is going to be a dogfight. Hell yea Reed can get a top 10, but better? Idk... This year expectations have to be adjusted. Hell if he cracks 10th thats a huuuge accomplishment in this field. Depending on injuries later in the year say 4-5 guys now instead of 15 animals you have 10. I hadnt even mentioned Bogle, Wilson, Malcolm, Brayton yet... fkn stacked.

This reminds me of rap music lists. 20 different people are top 5 rappers lol... Just like this year 17 people are top 5 racers lol...

Reed will be competitive, there is no doubt in my mind. He has top level equipment and his starts will be on point, he probably won't win any races, but I'm confident he will get a podium before the end of the year. He'll be top 8 in points provided he avoids injury

Too bad he missed his chance to retire with dignity, I really don’t think Chad likes being looked at as a novelty gate filler

Solid top 10. Maybe some top 5s. But you can rest assured every time he passes Alex Ray or someone like that, Ralph will start slobbering and tell us Reeds entire life story.

Man.....all I can say is I bet there is some seriously large portions of crow being served up after a few rounds , to the guys who say Chad is " a lapper " or " not competitive ". The guy is a solid top 10 dude or better when he's healthy. I also think he's going to gel with that Suzuki pretty dang good. I guess we'll wait and see.

He is and has been under several different user names. Like the weird babbling uncle sitting in the corner it's best to ignore him.

He can run up front for a few laps but podium? Only in the lcq or a true mudder - Edit - wait Reed is on a Suzuki? Top ten for sure.

Brayton has maintained his fitness as he’s aged. Reed has been all over the place.
