I am interested in getting some engine work done to my 04 cr125, anyone have any recommendations of who does good work in the SoCal area?

Varner Motorsports - he has specs for smokers that go back into the 80s

what exactly are you wanting to get out of it? . once the cylinder is modified, it can't be unmodified.

i second varner. i know who he is. the others mentioned may be just as good but i never heard of them.

you could also ask dave miller but he may be too busy with his mini mania.

another thing to consider is that built engines typically require racing gas, so that ads to the cost of use if you are not currently using it. if you are already using it and are not using ms109, you should try that and tune your bike for it. it will make more power than any other vp fuel in it's price range, and that is a fact, but it reeks to high heaven.

well if u4 has mtbe in it, then yes, it will reek like u4 but maybe a little more, lol. it really doesn't seem to bother some people but it was so bad for me that i decided not to use it even though it made more power with better throttle response in my bike.

Id rather not have each ride day cost 50 dollars in fuel for the bike. Expensive enough as it is.

thats for friggen sure. i have to run race gas in my 1980 yz250 but i do it on the cheap with 75% shell 91 octane e85 and 25% vp street blaze, and it is way faster than i will ever be able to ride it so i don't need any more power from $15.00 a gallon "race fuel".

x4 on Varner. I had an unreal '01 YZ125 from him... the fastest one I ever rode.

I have an RM250 with Varner motor work and I run it on AvGas with no detonation issues. AvGas is around $5.25/gallon right now so not breaking the bank.

That must be the only thing Az sucks at compared to California. I paid $3.90 last week.

california is turning into a shithole real fast..... Im not sure if tom morgan is around anymore but i got to ride a yz144 back in the day at the glen helen 24hr race. Bike lasted 10 hours before we lost the top end. In those 10 hours it was a freakin rocketship!

XPR motorsports in Murrieta. Chad the owner is a wonderful guy, he will make a plan for your engine with your buget and even tell you to leave it alone and save your money and ride it. He builds all the race engines for smarttop, bulfrog spa, Honda team. Also numerous privateers and amateurs. He built my 07 RM 250 into what I would call a 350f.
