Reed has went 13 years past RCs last full season. Thats crazy and to think his last SX win was i think ATL in 2015, that was 9 years after RC retired. RCs first full season pro was in 97, and i think Reed raced a 125 supercross in 99 and was proin AUS in 99. RC definitely couldve went longer, but man Reed has been racing this AMA circuit full time since 2002, thats a long time. I think he'll be competitive fpr a podium or top 5 on a few certain nights when everything is clicking and falls into place, but i think these finishes are expected from him too. Just imagine if the Goat RC was racing in 2016, would you guys still be expecting wins and podiums every night? Probably not. Reed couldve retired a few years ago, and then did a little farewell tour right now after a couple years off like MC did and this finish would be great. I really like Reed, but as a true fan you cant really be disappointed in a result like this considering all the factors.

Good race day, bad result. Im really enjoy seeing him fight with the young guns. To bad we did not see too much of that fight in the broadcast.

Okay either you guys are trolling and I've fallen for it or you're sight impaired? Reed had the fastest time in his heat, has passed current top tier riders like Anderson and Roczen straight up in the past two weeks and you seriously think he's no longer competitive?! Don't know what's happened to his starts, but he was beginning to move forward during tonight's main then fell back. I'm calling mechanical or he strained something. Burnt his clutch out is likely.

Went from 8th to 2nd in his heat and looked good doing it. He needs starts for sure but still beating plenty of blokes who should be beating him. 37 in a couple weeks!

Looked really cooked in his heat. In a stacked main he struggled a bit but more with how difficult it was to make a pass while guys behind him were trying to pass him. The restart seemed to hurt him in that regard. Last werk he was doing the opposite.

He will have plenty more top 10s this year and I think can make the top 5. Probably have a few finishes outside the top 10 though too. Hes no title contender but he's still competitive. For longer than any rider before him.

Oh you mean "used to" like in tonight's heat where he passed Bagget and was catching Brayton while setting the fastest lap?......yep so much slower now ?

Look at the lap times. These guys are all so close, but hard to change position if you dont take chances in followcross. Ask malcolm. Glad they made it somewhat exciting.

Weirdest thing is last week he struggled in quali and the heat then came good in the main, but this week he was great in quali and the heat then struggled in the main

Was taking some shit lines in the main though. Down the left in the whoops was good, but needed to cut down before the finish like Bagget. He must have been riding a lot of extra time going wide again.

Still looked pretty good on the bike but he said he was uncomfortable as in Sydney when it was really slick. Maybe same again.

I think its awesome that hes out there. And if you're a top ten guy why wouldn't you be? But damn the constant ball hanging annoys me. It's so incessant and over the top.

I don't consider myself a nut hugger of any current rider. I do root for Chad and think he's doing great. Maybe folks have just gotten spoiled by the "dominance factor"....if a rider isn't winning everything, he sucks. If they can't crush it, they should hang it up and go sack groceries at the Piggly Wiggly.

Is there a single one of you that wouldn't love to finish 14th at an SX race on tv...much less do it for a whole season? I know my chest would be puffed up bigger than a barrel if I finished dead last at every round.

I'm sure he's not satisfied with where he finished but it's a long season and there's gonna be some better nights to come. Keep on roosting Chadrock.

Just my opinion, but Reed is now a 10-15 place guy on average... He'll top 10 occasionally too. No podiums... He's still got some single lap speed and if he starts up front he does much better. But he fades in the mains a lot more than other guys now. Was a great ride in the qualifier, was hoping he was proving me wrong, but...

Didn't Jason Anderson, a guy about 10 years younger than Reed, have no excuse for the rookie level fade he had just last week? No Reed fan but the dude still has some in the tank.

2 races in. Did he fade at A1?

Not sure why folks want to draw conclusions so early in the season.
“Anderson is toast”
“Marvin can’t win the title”
“Reed fades more than others”

Last week Reed goes forward while others struggle. This week he shows speed, gets a weak start and has a crash in the main, and his fate is decided. Chad Fader.

He passed Baggett straight up in his heat. Who won last night?

Once again, good honest interview from Chad, blames him self for the bad starts and bad line choices in the main.

I agree. I have a few buddies that just won’t come on vital because of these guys that bash riders for no reason. People that do this have a terrible life and nothing else going on. They are miserable and want to make others feel it too.

Is it common knowledge that this is his last season? I hadn’t heard anything official, but last night in opening ceremonies he made a big speech about how this is his last go and he’d love to take a win in Glendale.

Doesn't matter the rider or race, there will be a disrespectful know-nothing shitting on riders weekly.

Chad Reed went straight from the race up to see Malcom! He is a legend of the sport and I'm pumped to see him out there every week because this will most likely be his last.
