A1 Press Conference?

Agree with Woody. It was fine. The vets Chad and Brayton were the best. Good job getting #10 up there.
Wow, no way! The oldest and most experienced guys there were the best? That's insane to think about. Thanks for that info!

Pathetic. Seriously. Tried to watch for the last 20 minutes. Loads so slow I only made it to 17 sec. Quit trying.

I understand, Roczen or Mcgregor are two marketing genius. I just prefer Khabib as i prefer Tomac. Roczen represents everything I hate about the modern man but he is the most talented rider on earth and his come back is just unreal. Respect for that.
You hate perseverance, drive, and an unwavering belief in oneself? You do you man but that’s kind of strange.

That was one of the worst press conferences I’ve ever seen. You had 11 of the best guy in the world in one room and the questions they were being asked could have been written by a 5th grader.

And if ZO isn’t going to be there but you announce him, why not bring Dean or Coop in as a replacement
I agree. I dont know why they cant answer the questions they were asked. Its like they veer off into another direction. “What have you done to prepare for this season differently than last?” “Yea for sure im just pumped on my incredible off season and im pumped to be here. We wont know whos prepared until tomorrow night but im pumped to be here.”

you need to read that ESPN article posted here on Kroc...........hes trying to raise the bar, and hence the game, by being more than some dirt bike guy and more of a professional athlete.....more should take notice
That would make sense if he wore the suit at every press conference but he wears it one time per year. To me it's clearly done as a publicity stunt more than him trying to make the sport more professional. Just my opinion, I'm sure many will disagree.

Glad I could re watch it even with the shaky film, poor audio, feld chode tripping over his words, and mediocre questions. I love Eli, but man, hopefully he listened to Reed and Brayton and will enjoy it more. I know he's probably been gutted since a year ago today and is coming back with a serious redemption mindset but man. Idk. Seems like him and Jason were not very happy to be there. I can almost see Barcia doing really well because he seems to be enjoying the moment and also has the speed. There's two ways to ride fast, when your happy, or when your ticked off, and I think happy is more sustainable. Just my .02

Incorrect. There’s no true big game hunting season in the winter. September-November is where it’s at.

Good point. He should. But publicity stunts aren’t a bad thing either

Eli do a lot of safari hunts? Typically he’s been a Colorado archery elk hunter which is a September season.

When will these factory riders start investing in their own PR skills? That was painful to watch...the best in the business can’t even directly answer simple questions, they always end up with the same generic crap, saying the same things over and over, lots of “um’s“ and “ah’s“ and “yeah no’s” (when they try and be funny), and “pumped’s” as the answer to every question.

Come on riders, start taking some public speaking classes, get some training on how to present yourself in public. You’re the best in the world, yet at press conferences you act like the winners of the Demolition derby at the local fair grounds.

Oh, and this sport really needs to get over the “secrecy”....if you’re hurt, admit it...put out a press release even. Don’t try and hide it or beat around the bush worrying that one of your competitors is going to find out and then try elbow you in your newly bruised ribs.

So lame...maybe it’s because I’m getting old (is 38 old?)...but the non-racing pro side of this sport is really starting to bug me sometimes.

Otherwise, I can’t wait for the racing tomorrow! (I’ll just watch the racing and bypass all the press conferences and interviews...then I’ll be happy). Lol

could not agree more - nobody is saying it's F1 or MotoGP (and MX/SX has nowhere near the cheddar of those cash cows), but it's one step away from tractor pulls sometimes (not that there's anything wrong with tractor pulls)!

K-Roc wears a suit, and Anderson mocks him for trying to raise the level of professionalism. They are dirt bike racers, but they're also world class athletes with an amazing skillset, but few of them act like it. Kenny and Reed (like them or not) are the only two up there that possess ironclad self-belief, but heaven forbid they should try to raise the level of the sport.Blink

And the journalism in this sport is really just Matthes on the one hand (who has carved out a niche where he's pretty witty, but smart about it, so he gets away with a lot) and then a bunch of product testers and manfriends that are too afraid to speak up for fear they'll be black-balled by the industry. There are very, very few moto journalists that make anywhere near what most people would consider a good living, and the ones that are there have to tread very lightly I guess...can't be poking around asking uncomfortable questions of all the delicate flowers on the factory teams...lol.

Stepping down off my soapbox now...Whistling
