But hey, he sure didn’t hesitate to shit on a potential customer did he. Hell of a marketing job he did there.
Then the kids bikes and pit bikes. The Alta MXR is my favorite because it doesn't bother the neighbors. No four stroke big bikes, but if I was serious about racing there would still be a 450 and 250f in my garage like there was for about 10 years. The Alta is way too good to become like that pos Cannondale.
Weight is your enemy when accelerating.
If so, Alta may disappear but the concept will live on.
I think the idea of urban/suburban motocross on a safe/basic track could be a lot of fun and a good way to get more people involved. When I lived in Vegas we had KLX110 supermoto races in a parking lot in a suburban park. What a hoot!
Not everyone has the time or spending money to drive and hour to and from NIMBYland to get a moto fix. I have mountain bike trails 5 minutes from my suburban home. I only see my YZ250 when I go to the garage to grab my Kona 134. It costs virtually nothing to ride the MTB. A day of moto is easily $50, and of course one has to earn $80 to spend that $50.
Everyone else’s bike was already revved out and when the gate dropped all they had to do was dump the clutch and they had power.
Darryn was by far the slowest guy out of the gate save for maybe the guy on the Beta.
I was hoping and rooting for a good showing from the Alta. With the recent news about the company it would have been cool for a "drop the mic" performance as there's a chance we don't see them at that race again. Didn't happen though. They got put up against the guy that won the event, right off the bat and Shane made the Alta look like dog shit.
Pit Row
heres just one aftermarket idea sound systems and sounds you can customise linked to the rpm/throttle its the new pro circuit ti/cf pipe..
we've had a century to develop aftermarket for ice
we're at year dot for electric..
it would be their most favorite motor by far.
if you dont get why then you dont get how.
Newmann, watch till the end----Courtesy of Maverick for finding this
Even with maximum torque available at 0rpm it is going to need to get some rev's up before it starts producing decent power. This was very evident at RBSR
1) It doesn't have max power at 0 rpm, it has max torque.
2) Yes, power is the measure of the work being done, but not what is being transferred to the ground. You're really after the driving force, which is torque. Building up revs with the clutch is just getting the ICE into the torquey part of the curve, and is only transferring part of that power to the ground, either due to clutch slipping or wheel slipping. You could achieve the same thing on the Alta if you get the rear wheel spinning, but you'll only ever be able to get down the max torque the bike can produce
