It's definitely the world against the US. That just seems kinda prick-ish to me. I surely don't view it as the US versus everyone else. Country against country and we finished off of the podium.
It is a so so ok comparison. If you look at prodeuced MXON capable riders per inhabitants. On the other hand, US just got smashed by a couple of countries about 1/10 of the size...

Unfortunately you don’t even have a chance to battle with the best in the world if you don’t get a start and they do. Not saying Eli or Justin could have battled with them today but thanks to their starts we didn’t even get the chance. No excuses, everyone raced the same track.

first moto Tomac and Plessenger were inside top 10 , had 30 min and 2 laps to improve
thats not that bad to be honest with you , especially not for riders like Tomac
im pretty sure if it was dry and better conditions , it would have been a different race and results .
but this race showed MXGP riders are better in these conditions ..
I guess I’ll just say that Eli and Justin were never next to either Dutch rider at any point to show how much faster they were. I’m sure someone will say they were, on the gate. Being a proud fan from the US I think people would be lying to themselves if they didn’t go to this race to see the great GP riders as much as they did to root our guys on. It was my one chance to watch Tony, Jeffrey, Gautier, etc all at once and it was amazing. I would have went even if team USA didn’t.

He's pumped and full of adrenalin they did smash the USA... guys like plessinger sitting on USA team press conferences months ago saying he's gonna get aggressive and shit like he went 1-1 at redbud its just banter, herlings is cocky and alot of people don't like what he says but at least he can back it up with his talent and hard work for the sport, he passed the full American field at iron man from last place and he's just beat the 9 times world champ this year. he's the fastest mx rider in the world right now #fact

Did he say anything about not even being the best rider on the track today? Seems to me the guy who finished 7th in the GP's and didn't win a moto(2 podium finishes?) just kicked everyone's ass.

Really? Herlings fell in first corner yesterday and battled them all, cairoli fell in first race and came through to battle.

I love Herlings podium interview! It adds to the spectacle of sport. And it was far better than him saying “I can’t thank enough Verpalen KTM Motors, ..(rattle off a list of sponsors)...”

But it wasn’t as good as Rogan’s post-fight interview with Derrick Lewis last night. Laughing

It is a response to all the idiots that has reached out to him on social media saying US was gona destroy him.
No AMA rider stepped up besides maybe Ferrandis that is more like a 50/50 rider not fully converted yet.

So I think it should maybe be directed towards GP vs AMA instead of US vs Rest.

A nice deflection of the fact that all you talked about was going 1-1 and switching to the MXGP class to get more rest and your teammate goes to the OPEN class and goes 1-1.
Please correct me if I am mistaking, but it looked like he let his teammate get it. He was putting down faster lap times at the end.

Until today I was unaware of the huge chip these various euro countries have on their collective shoulders.

Couldn’t agree more why risk injury when it’s a team event to beat your own teammate!!!

Here's how simple it is: if you want to get back to beating the FIM regulars, you better get your ass "outdoors" more than just 3 months out of the year.

Look, I ABSOLUTLEY love Supercross; but, it isn't Motocross. It's 20 minutes of Jumps, Bowl Turns and Man-Made Whoops from Hell...and, like I said, I dig that stuff...but, here in the USA...we've sold out to Supercross.

There's NO other way to acknowledge what's happening.

I'm not interested in ANY Anti-Feld BS or any other "Us-n-Them" anger-fest. I'm just telling you the obvious cause and effect. We spend 1/2 the time racing outdoors than Europe does. And the net result is that they're better prepared, better trained and even better at the "strategy" of racing outdoors.

Period.

True, so much excitement from so many GB (maybe mostly english?) based fans that the US didn't win.. Even giddy..

At no point during prerace interviews did Herlings talk about this race like it was a team race.To him it was I want to go 1-1. In Moto 3 they really had no chance to win and it was a pure individual race. Do you think a competitor like Herlings wanted his team mate to achieve his last goal before him? Espically after his reasoning to moving to MXGP was to get more time in between motos. The MxDN really is a race like no other. 38 motos and smoked by your KTM teammate. Get to the MxDN and you go 1-1. I never expected that. No one did.

No way he "let" his teammate have the moto.

What so Everts can pass around the outside whilst standing on the pegs again??

You're delusional.
You mean so Everts can get waxed by a 2 stroke when he's on a 450? Pointless posts the MXGP guys are just better

Yep and then we change the schedule to accommodate the stars that threaten to go SX only. Get back to Sat/Sunday races, have the season go longer so our season doesn't end a month before the GP season. Get some support so those outside the top ten can train during the week so we aren't having these people lapped 2-4 times a moto. I'm amazed at seeing podium interviews where the winners aren't even breathing hard after a 30 min moto, but I remember back when the euros thought US riders were crazy for "sprinting" the entire 30 minute moto, maybe we aren't doing that anymore?

Rather hear him talk shit than listen to Tomac mumble. I was suprised how nice Hearlings was on the podium last year.

Team Green is right...I think this is also manifest in AMA-based riders' suspension setups. They struggle to get away from a supercross type setup (stiff front fork, dead rear end, etc.). You can see how much plusher and more active the GP riders setup is.

They did smash us...simple as that.

SXoN!

There it is. That would be an awesome event: ESPECIALLY if you had it 1 week after the MXoN.
