If true, that should be good

I was thinking the same thing about Roczen. I think he will be a big spoiler.

I'm not a Barcia fan, but his ride at the 2012 MXoN in Lommel where we got smoked earned some respect. We were in over our heads in the sand, but the final moto he rode his ass off trying to save some face for the team. Same goes for Webb's MXoN ride, I'm not a fan, but he rode his ass off and you could tell he wanted nothing besides a win.

^ speaking of sand, next year is going to be a fricken SH*T SHOW for us at Assen. I hope our 3 guys spend the month break between Ironman and MXON just pounding out sand motos somewhere in Florida.

I'm predicting Barcia to be the spoiler...…. This years Max Anstie.

Overall predictions:

2) Netherlands
3) Belgium

As long as USA takes the overall I'd love to see KR94 win his motos. Guy has shown such heart and determination over the past two years how could you not pull for him?

Barcia is a gamer. No doubt about that. He's a perfect MXDN pick.

I was thinking on my drive home last night "Is everyone forgetting Cairoli?" He is there as well and although he hasn't been exactly on Herlings heels he could do well if Herlings gets a bad start. Barcia could also very well take a W as he usually does great at Red Bud.

BamBam will absolutely put it on the line... I expect him to dominate the open class and be in the mix in Moto 3. And don't be surprised at all of he sends it in there a few times.

I think Barcia has a real chance to win Race 2 (although I think Jeremy Seewer could be a sleeper). But Race 3? Mixed in with Herlings, Cairoli, Tomac, Desalle, Roczen, Anstie, Paulin? Barcia will be challenged to finish high enough to win the individual overall.

I really don't see anyone in the open class that can run with him. It will be interesting when you include Tomac, Herlings, Roczen and the rest in the last moto.

Really unfortunate that the French federation sucks so bad. Marvin belongs on the track this weekend. Would have made the final moto that much more epic. Arguably one of the 5 fastest riders in the world shouldn't be on the couch when it's MXoN time.

Barcia winning would be no less a shock than Anstie stomping the field last year.

Any mud will really play to his strengths.

I am looking forward to it as much as anyone but all of the hype that is going on about Tomac vs Herlings is going to be ruined by Barcia this weekend.

It would be awesome to see the consensus two best riders in the world go at it hammer and tong but I think that Barcia is going to be the spoiler and will be the top overall racer. Open and MXGP will be the final race and will have the three of those guys along with a motivated Roczen that would love to wax Herlings in it.

After being at the MXGP in Jacksonville last year and watching Barcia riding with no confidence and looking like he was done it will complete his comeback story.

Not a Barcia fanboy because I'm a grown ass man after all, just a feeling I get from listening to him and the way he finished the season (even though Tomac was in safe mode) plus the fact that Barcia has won Red Bud before and is a good mudder if it rains.

I’ll say the same thing i said to the guy claiming Marvin would go on to win the title after Redbud: If you really believe what you’re saying then put your money where your mouth is... $100 says Tomac dusts him same as he’s done all season. Dude backing Marv ended up donating $100 to team Australia’s MxON bid. I’ll be happy to collect your money as well but as a wise man once said “either put up or shut up”.

"Put up or shut up" over something that I have no control over the outcome of?

That my friend is the epitome (look it up) of stupid. I simply said that I think that Barcia will be the spoiler. I didn't say call Vegas and book it. It just has the feeling that it won't end up being the dream race where Tomac and Herlings get great starts and battle it out for world supremacy like everyone is thinking.

The general consensus right now (and I agree) is that Tomlings are #1 and #1a in the world right now by a pretty fair margin. I just think that on this day at Red Bud Barcia has a chance to ruin the great moto debate of 2018. Nothing more nothing less.

p.s. I'm pretty sure I just made up the name Tomlings….Maybe Hermac???????

I was thinking this yesterday, everyone is all about the Herlings/tomac battle, and it wouldn't surprise me to see KRoc and Barcia benefit from those two going at it. Gonna be a good weekend!

I feel like alot of people dont realize this because they don’t attend the National in person. Barcia rides the walls off Redbud. Scrubbing the hell out of stuff, sideways and beyond off everything and just flat out on the gas. You can just see in his riding how much he loves that track. I’ve felt this way for years!

Yes... A little youtube watching of Barcia at Red Bud might show a few skeptics what we are talking about.

The way I have seen him banzai that track is why I say he could be a spoiler. In 2015 Dungey didn't have anything for him at Red Bud, Barcia was on another level.

So lemme get this straight. This guy said (in an open forum, no less) that he thought Barcia could pull an upset special (which isn't an altogether unreasonable prediction), and you think that he needs to bet you money else "shut up" about it? Really? Do you have any idea how simple that makes you look? His prediction (however bold) is the kinda commentary forums like this are for.

Well, I happen to think Herlings is gonna win everything -- the MXGP qualifying race, Race 1 on Sunday and Race 3 after that. Clean sweep. Does this mean I suddenly feel obligated to bet cash with some random internet guy? Dream on. I don't give a shit what Random Internet Guy thinks.

Haha. Whoa man, may want to consider taking a few deep breaths and relax a bit. “Put up or shut up” is what’s commonly referred to as a figure of speech. Hence the reason i stated it in the form of a quote. Obviously I’m not some crazy psycho literally telling someone to shut up because they made a bold prediction on a motocross race. I was merely assessing if he was genuinely confident in his bold prediction, if he was merely throwing it out there for the sake of argument, or if he was just trolling. As i mentioned, someone else had boldly stated(albeit in a more denagrating and negative fashion) after Redbud earlier this year that Marv would for sure win the title and Tomac would choke. I made the same offer to him and while it was somewhat in jest, ultimately we mutually agreed to wager $100 on it with the winnings going to charity. Right or wrong he clearly proved he absolutely believed Marv would win and wasn’t just trolling. To his credit he actually followed through and donated the funds to team australia’s MxON bid.

So of course he’s entitled to his opinion irrespective of whether or not he’s willing to wager money on his prediction. That said, if he was absolutely convinced he was right I figured the least i could do is provide him with an opportunity to monetize his prophetic abilities.

That said, if my comments, which were meant in jest, came off the wrong way my sincere apologies to the OP. My intent was only to assess his level of conviction, not to be a dick.
