LeBron probably could never go fast on a motorcycle but he could play just about any sport at a collegiate level, thats called athleticism.

What facts are you basing this on?

If he’s THAT good, let’s see him take a privateer that that runs 12-15th every weekend and hasn’t won a title yet. If this guy starts getting on the podium and winning, then I’ll give Aldon credit. Until then, he’s just a cherry picker. True Story!
What's true is , that you're clueless.

Every time I hear some random dude one here say this shit , I can't help but laugh. Why?.....Because you are basically calling every rider he has ever worked with an idiot. And yet they think he's worth every penny and KEEP going back!

Even Dungey said that he raced all those year at about 97% ( or something like that )...and Aldon found that last 3%. And in the couple years RD raced under Aldon , he was the strongest mentally and physically he's ever been. Also , take a look at Zach. Ask him if he thinks Aldon is worth it. And instead of flapping your lips about things you know nothing about , you should walk up to Zach , call him and idiot and tell him how he's wasting his money.

Aldon does the thinking for the rider's health plan. They just show up and ride. It's not "easy" like some of you mention. There are many variables that need to be considered and those variables probably differ per rider. Keep in mind, most of his riders speak highly of him.
This is very true! But there are a few successful riders that don’t speak so highly of him. There are also a few riders currently that his program isn’t working with.

I’m just saying...if Aldon were to build a basketball court and a football field in his property.....would we see machine atheletes in other disciplines?

Are you high? Not every rider has it in them to be an elite, top of the sport champion. However, a select few do have that potential - that's where Aldon comes in, taking riders who have that potential, and unlocking it.

Zach Osborne overall SX/MX results:
2014 SX West - 8th
2014 MX - 22nd
2015 SX West - 3rd
2015 MX - 4th
2016 SX East - 4th
2016 MX - 7th

(starts with Aldon in late 2016)

2017 SX East - 1st
2017 MX - 1st
2018 SX West so far - 1st

This is an interesting statistic. I would like to see something similar on the other riders he trains or has trained.

Amen to that , all aldon does is give these guys a professional training schedule and charge them stupid amounts of money , I agree all the guys that have given him his name , were champs with or without him anyways , they had the heart and the drive . That's what makes a true champion , Heart....

Aldon is as much a psychiatrist as anything. We love to talk about Eli being a headcase. We love to say these guys make mental mistakes.

With that said, I think Aldon seals the deal for these guys. They finally believe they have all the pieces with Aldon. All they have to do is show and do what he says and they'll win. I think that is why he works for some guys and doesn't for others. He closes the gap for those who need that little something.

No sport is natural, takes practice. Benny Bloss could play basketball all day long with practice. Weston Peick would probably be an excellent wrestler, with practice. Just about anyone could play baseball, golf, etc with practice. The same way LeBron could ride a motorcycle fast if given the chance to practice. Assuming what a person could or could not do based on their profession is simply not an accurate representation of the individual.

Much easier to get good at stick and ball sports than it is to get fast on a dirt scooter.

He wouldn’t train Andrew Luck. He would train Brady, then Brady would make it to the Superbowl because of Alton. Then Brady would retire

I’d love for him to take a privateer that’s mid
Pack. Or even a guy like Weston to really see what Aldon is capable. Because it is a fact that 95% if his riders were champions before and would’ve been champs without him.

I could not agree more , yet i contradict myself on my recent reply to this thread . But if Eli could conquer his mental thing as some of the other who worked with aldon did maybe he could be on top every race and stop the mental mistakes.

Take a look at Marvin Musquin , Guy has the heart and the talent for sure . No one said shit shi*t was easy because 99% of us dont have what it takes to be on top every weekend. But aldon has thrown every resource he has at Marvin , and he still cant prevail to be the chamoion that aldon says he would be after RD retired ... Key to the factor is these guys have to have the Heart , The commitment , And the psychological state to make it happen every week . Yes aldon plays a key factor in some of those roles. But he isn;t the only one who ever has , and isnt the god to speak of . He is just there and was spot lighted because of Ricky Charmichael , And Vlilipoto , which without aldon they still would go down in the record books as the greatest of all time . And its a fact , they had their heads on straight and knew what they wanted and had the heart..

There is. I was in a bar drinking a beer and LeBron was on the tube. I thought to myself...look at this cocky bastard. He thinks he’s better than MJ by doing less. Then I thought about MX and SX and how those dudes are way better atheletes. Then I thought about the disparity in the paycheck and savings account between MX and SX stars vs. NBA All Stars that would be in full blown cardiac arrest if they had to ride a Pro National.
Then I wonder if there is an opportunity for Aldon to tell MX and SX, “fuck off....I’m going main stream”.
Sorry but how is LeBron doing less than MJ? Are you saying he doesn't train as hard or play as hard? Not being a dick, just asking.

I dare you to find a "chubby" picture of RC or Ryan in their 125 days.
I once read an article (in a magazine, remember them??) by Mitch Payton, he said when RC joined PC's amateur program they had to order him 36/38"pants. When it came to the start of the season they had to order him a size 30".

Dont ask for links, I couldn't tell you,but I definitely read it.

You're confusing athleticism with being in great shape. Motocrossers are in great shape, but they are nowhere near the athlete that LeBron James is.

Most bb players run/sprint 2.5 to 3 miles per game, most are in great shape. I thimk you seriously underestimate how good of shape they are in.

Benny would probably get college looks just because of his height, but his dad told me he wasn't a good athlete when he was younger, but he might have grown into his body and been a collegiate player, so he is the exception. What on earth makes you think Peick wouldve been a good wrestler? because of some videos? Good wrestlers are truly superior athletes and Weston himself told me he has to work hard at being athletic. Maybe with hard work he could have been a decent college wrestler, but good wrestlers have so many athletic traits that i dont know he has or not.

I agree, every sport takes practice, but you cant practice into being a great athlete, you either are or youre not. No training in the world will get any rider running a 4 second 40, like even the slow NFL players can. No amount of training will help any rider have a 40 inch vertical, like every NBA player and most NFL receivers and backs, none. BUT, proper training can get even an old guy like myself to run or cycle as hard and as far as any rider, except maybe Eli because, like his dad, is a beast on a bike.

Now, to your first statement, how can you say that? One isnt any harder than the other to get good at.

I understand this is a moto forum, so you could be forgiven for being clueless when it comes to other sports...but of all nights to call out Lebron for "doing less" you pick the night he sets an NBA record as the first to score 35 points and have over 15 assists with zero turnovers, against a very good Raptors team?? Come on man...

This is exactly what I was going to say. He takes riders that are already championship material. Even some of the guys like Weimer were past champions when they started working with him. So its not like hes taking a mid pack rider and turning them into a champion. Osborne might be the closest one could say he did that with but when you look back Osborne wasnt much of a trainer early in his career. He might have ridden alot but that might have been the extent of his training.

It doesn't take much to do a quick google search on Lebron's training and how he is just a freak of nature. The guy would show up early for playoff games, get in a 4 hour workout, then go drop a triple double afterwards. I just read an interesting article how his Navy Seal trainer helped him recoop from some back issues, and how Lebron is always training, always improving his body, and always doing everything he can to recover and increase his longevity. Sounds awfully familiar.

And to the guy that says college athletes are lazy and go on IR because of minor injuries? Some of these college athletes have to be dragged against their will off the field when they are hurt. Bang on Pros all you want if it makes you feel better but man, leave the college athletes alone, those kids are all heart.

I agree. If you have ever seen a professional baseball, NFL or NBA player in real life, not on the tube, you will understand what a real athlete is.

Are they comparable to Dungey, Tomac etc as far as being in great condition? Yes
Could they pick up Dungey, Tomac etc and throw them across the room like a rag doll? Yes

I have done remodeling for a few NFL players here in San Diego, believe me when I say you would not want to mess with them. Solid muscle and twice the size of Peick

Fitness, athletic. 2 different things. Pro s are skilled at their craft.
3/22/2018 7:58am
Basketball and Motocross are very different sports. Although they appear similar from a conditioning standpoint, the conditioning for Basketball is much different then Motocross and vice versa. Pro Basketball is more of a jog or low quality sprint, whereas Pro Motocross guys are pretty much on it all the time. A lot of basketball athletes work on explosiveness, sprinting, strength, and overall conditioning. Motocross athletes don't do sprints like basketball players do, they do endurance workouts like cycling, swimming, jogging, and even walking. Motocross riders still lift and try to get strength (some even do forms of Crossfit), but they do not do as much power lifting as basketball players do. For example, look at how buff Lebron is compared to Ken Roczen or Eli Tomac. Basketball players may run 2.5 - 3 miles per game, but Motocross athletes can run up to ten miles for a workout (saw that on KR94s Instagram story the other day). In contrast to that though I will guarantee the Lebron could lift more in any platform or power workout than any motocross rider.

These two sports are very different, and that would probably be a reason why Aldon wouldn't cut it as a basketball trainer because his strong suit is motocross.

I agree with you, most people don't understand the true definition of athleticism vs skill. Proper training may get you an inch or two on your vertical or a 100th or two on your 40 yard dash but these "athletes" are blessed with superior explosiveness and speed to begin with.

Michael Boyle is a trainer that I've always kept up on and he said once he was advising a hockey team on which players to draft. Player A had a superior V02max compared to the draft field but was slightly undersized. Player B was 6'2, 225lbs and had a 34 inch vertical. Player A was drafted higher but was a bust. Player B was a terror on the ice and had a successful career.

To say top motocross racers are not great athletes is just idiotic. One thing I think misleads you is that you have actual stats of NBA and NFL players to go off of, but no one in moto shows those stats. Idk why, but I would guess that is because they don't train to achieve those stats in any way. So why would the put their numbers out for specific things they don't train for. After all, teams don't sign riders based on their sprint speed, or vertical.

I will say it again, you are confusing athleticism with being in great shape, huge difference. I could train a completely unathletic fat kid to run a marathon, but that fat kid will never run a 4-second 40 or have the vertical leap that a wide receiver does.

Yes motocrossers can run far and can ride a motorcycle fast, neither one of them are horribly athletic. Running far is something 90% of America can train themselves to do with the right discipline, riding a motorcycle fast is a talent, and while 99% of America can't do it, it is not their athleticism that gives them the ability to go fast on a motorcycle.

Running fast can only be achieved through genetics, jumping high can only be achieved through genetics, being able to lift huge weight naturally can only be achieved through genetics.

That's the difference between great athletes and average athletes, I really can't believe that most of you don't understand this. Go to a NFL Game and Watch a 240 pound linebacker run, and then tell me any motocrosser is as athletic as he is

As far as your first sentence goes " to say that motocrossers aren't athletes is idiotic", I never said that, I just said they're not great athletes.
