This is the first pic I've seen that could be the real deal.

I think the eagle has landed. That looks legit IMO.

Looks legit. The only thing I'm sceptical about is the maxxis tyres (tires), I'm don't recall ever seeing them as oem for offroad bikes. Sweet if it is real though.

Hope you can actually get them next month. This is my kids last year on 65’s, if I can buy one next month I may.

Maxxis come stock on the new ktm 85s. Possibly 65 and 50 as well. It was the first thing that stood out to me to be honest though.

Doesn't that look like a small wheeled 85?

There’s a number on the rad shroud but it’s hard to see if it’s 65 or 85. It was posted as 65 on Instagram, I’m just the messenger Wink

Looks better than the big bikes. It’s to bad they won’t atleast change the tanks and put a decent set of shrouds on the big bikes. P

Looks really good! Resembles the 450. Would be nice to see the other smokers in the lineup in this style.

That looks super legit cuz it doesn't resemble the ergos of any other bike I have seen. If Yamaha can follow up with an 85 of similar style then they will be back in the mini biz for real! Great job Yamaha!
It does appear that KTM may have been the inspiration for the design but that's not a bad thing.

They’re going to unveil the 65 at the San Diego SX.

I like it! I'm hearing a new YZ85 for 2019 too? Seriously need a new tank/rad shrouds and maybe motor mods to the big bikes too and they're back in the game!

Different side shrouds. 85 from that side is the gas tank itself. Pipe does look a little big but I think it's legit.

I would run with Legit, can only hope, it looks pretty good from one average photo and still in a crate.

Has proper chain adjuster blocks within the swingarm too unlike the current old-school setup on the 2018 YZ85. Forks also look a lot more modern

Just need a competitive 50cc next and they'll be able to borrow the KTM model of building their fan base from an early age.

Yeah I noticed the swingarm was different than the 85. Good for them to finally take the plunge and build a 65. It was needed and has been for years.

I got started on Yamaha's and rode them for years so I'm happy to see this.

I don't see that happening anytime soon. One can dream though.

You can see oil filler cap is moved compare to the 2017 85cc.

New swing arm adjuster like the big bikes.

Shock angle is less straight

wave disc brakes.

looks like it got a power valve.

Aluminum sub frame?

Integrated brake filler reservoar. External on the 2017 85.

If the YZ 65 sells well and they start taking a good share of the market I think you'll see a YZ 50 sooner rather than later. It would only make sense. I don't think it's going to take them as long to release a 50cc as it did for the YZ 65.

If aluminum frames are cheaper for the Japanese to produce, like a lot of people like to say, why wouldn’t all of their least expensive bikes come with them? Seems to be the exact opposite.

What if they are coming out with a new 85 too? The engine on that bike looks close to the current one. It looks too big for a 65cc?

I don't know, i'm confused when i look at that bike haha.

It's definitely happening. Why is everyone so concerned that they're not releasing it? I mean, they've alluded to it and all but confirmed it.

While my kids have grown up and off to college if this ends up being real it would be the smartest move a Japanese manufacturer has made in the MX/Offroad bike world in years. Build competitive kids bikes to introduce them to your brand early. In the hopes them remain loyal and keep buying your brand. KTM and now Husky know this and have done it for years. Somehow the Japanese forgot it.

The marketing video they released had 65 on the front number plate. It's not a coincidence. The 65 is coming and the pic posted by the OP certainly appears to be it.

A new 85 is surely coming but not this year. Ask yourself this, would an 85 have those really small wheels? No.

The good news for you is that you won't have to wait much longer before you stop being confused lol.

Never seen a bike come in the crate completely assembled. Handlebars and front wheel on.

That would make the crate to large.
