I think he DNF'd because of his pants but claimed it was his shoulder.
He DNFed because he fell, Dungey would have held them up with his left hand.

Why the hell did they just not use a zip tie to secure his pants and let him keep riding and Salvage whatever points he could

Haha, good point.

Edit: Even better. I just watched an old video where other riders were commenting about Dungey's MEC shifter incident and Tomac said he would have pulled off.

Weege or someone tweeted that he crashed again AFTER pulling up his pants and that's when he pulled off.

Huge Tomac fan. But can’t defend his ride. The fastest wallflower this sport has ever seen.

It's kinda cool, this is how stuff get's innovated. Like how they started making MC covers after Eli's front brake issue.

I've broke a buckle in a race on my fox 360's, caught it on something on my bars in an almost get off, and it ripped the stitching out of the pant. With that said, my zipper kept them up. If your pants are falling down you surely can't sx due to restricted movement, it really is dangerous. If your shoulder is fawked, well, you surely can't ride either. He was on fire, I really hope it's frustration and pain that led him off the track and we'll see him back quickly!! Racing's not the same with out him. The crowd was quiet afterwards, maybe just me but you could tell the vibe kinda got 'killed'. Heal up quick ET3

If it's not a real injury or bike issue, his mental game is way off.

Face it guys, it was another hose issue. Last year he had issues with his brake hose, this year he was having trouble with his hose, you know, he was afraid "it", would "come out" with his unfortunate wardrobe malfunction.

You know someone was going to bring it up.
Good thing for him that his crew didn't get the cutters out like they did the last time. Tongue Shocked

Looked like he dinged his head, the little drunken stooper move when getting up looked like he was a little loopy. Then I'm sure he probably dinged his shoulder a little too. But it didn't look so bad he couldn't finish the race. Just seemed odd. And ya, he totally jacked my fantasy picks....dang it

I understand if he hurt his shoulder seriously, but you think he would try to salvage a few points considering last year he lost by 5

I ripped the buckle clean off a pair of pants in a crash...I didn’t even realize the buckle was gone until after the race...the zipper held the pants up.

That said, I don’t blame the gear company...buckle design is fine...I just went over the bars and then slid across the ground on my stomach through some rocks.

Yeah unfortunately I've seen more heart in local D class. Is it me or does it seem like he doesn't even wanna be at the races anymore?

Dungey would look pretty fucking stupid standing next to the track holding his pants up, because there is nobody in existence that could ride SX one handed.

I realize we're all guessing but dang, cut the dude some slack. We have NO CLUE what actually happened under his riding gear. So many things could be the cause of not finishing. All this BS about RC would have finished or Dungey would have also is 100% speculation. If Tomac comes back next week and wins, lots of you will be saying he was a sissy for this week's DNF. However, you don't have to be broken or torn to be unable to ride. Did you ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe his arm and grip strength were useless because of a nerve or something that was pinched or any other cause that isn't as apparent . Go ahead, accuse me of speculation. Keep in mind, it's no more far fetched than everyone else's speculation about him having no reason to DNF.

alpinestars stuff is chensy and overpriced. has been since at least 2005. really cant believe they still have so much boot marketshare. if only sidi would get their distribution problems sorted.

Hes seriously going to lose because his pants broke? Are you kidding me?
Honestly i just watched the race again .....when they zoom into Tomac fixing his pants its clear his zipper is fully down. Thats why his pants wouldnt stay buckeld up and he didnt zip them back up while trying to rebuckle his pants.

Heres my theory: I think he honestly forgot to zip up his pants and when he went down (not because of his pants) things came way undone. Every set of riding gear ive ever owned have had burly zippers that take a decent amout of effort to zip down they dont just drop the zipper bec the buckle is unclipped. Its pretty embarassing to admit so i doubt youll hear anyone mention it and i may not even be correct but watch the race again and pause it when they show Tomac trying to rebuckle his pants.
