Makes me wonder if he didn't rattle his brain. Sincerely hope not because head injuries are not to be fucked with. And it's easy to think things are fine for a bit while adrenaline is still gushing through.

Either way, hope he comes back next weekend with pants buckled and a fire under his arse.

Could be worse than what they're letting on in a hope to keep it quiet. The old Mx industry stupidity...

Or it could have felt worse and he was worried he'd really jacked it.

Or he rang his bell.

Or maybe his pants wouldn't stay up...

Anyways, my point is maybe we wait before cussing him out.

Very true, I'd love to see Vital's finest do the same

Contusion means bruise... code word for pulled off. You finish the damn race if your a champion. No matter how embarassing it is with your ass hanging out you cant be down 26 points out the gate. The only positive is Eli rides way better from behind in points than ahead so it will probably help. Its like when hes down he knows what he has to aim for but when hes up he doesnt know how to manage a championship and freaks out. Might be a blessing in disguise because he seems to feel less pressure with white backgrounds.

I dont think the Kawi has ever fit his riding style not sure why he keeps forcing it. Hes a finesse rider kawis need to be muscled around and rear steered. He should be on the new Honda but that spot is solidified so maybe he goes husky? Even suzuki with their handling would probably be a better fit. Maybe he can get jgr their first championship. I dont think hes a yamaha type rider but coop would probably be better on that kawi than he is on the yam. Idk he shoulda just stayed honda tbh. If you watch highlights on his crf he flowed completely differently than now. It was incredible to watch esp that 2015 mx season before his crash. Thats Elis finesse style. Hes been good but never gotten back to that point he was blowing Dungeys doors off by a minute.
You mean the honda that he wrecked both shoulders on?

Yeah, you guys are talking like a contusion to the shoulder is something as simple as a scraped knee. This is a serious injury that will take a good bit of time to heal depending on the severity. He might not have realized any of the pain due to adrenaline when he was out there on the track. My sister crashed her street bike back at the end of October and suffered a contusion to the shoulder. She didn't go back to work until this past Wednesday and is still having problems with it as far as comfort goes.

Eli Tomac doesn't pull of the track if there was nothing wrong with his body or bike, not after last year.

The pants would've obviously been an issue but he could've gained multiple spots even though they were slipping. The pants can't possibly be the reason for the DNF.

I’ll take the positive road and say that we are in for some great riding by Tomac. It’s like he has to overcome something to ride in full beast mode. The stage is set now.

Also, would a legit cheat protector have helped him and dean?

Tomac is a finesse rider? Then what would you consider Marvin to be? Because I feel they have polar opposite styles and Marv is all about finesse.

Tomac is all about agression, this is why he rages at tracks like Southwick.

Lest we forget, it was double shoulder injury from a simple fall before.

Can't win em if you don't finish em.

I️ sure hope he’s not seriously injured.

Also, Kawi’s are no longer rear steer bikes. I’ve ridden the ‘16-‘18 model plenty and it’s very neutral and can be setup to steer with the front wheel.

Good luck to Eli getting his health to where he can put on a show for us again like last season.

I would assume he will be under concussion protocol, I have little doubt that has been at the root of his unusual actions after crashes the last year.

I have never seen pants fail like those A-Stars did. Obviously a hard scrape to his hip also. Redesign coming.

What the hell was that rear end kick about? Acted like a fading shock, there was a tiny hump with no lip and it didn't look like the rear end slid? Very odd bike response on a tiny smooth hump?

Unbelievable story line drama for race 1. From leading comfortably to last. Wow.

Tomac seems to have a lot in common with JS7. They both get out front and ride faster than
needed to demoralize the field, sometimes to the point where they are their own worst enemy.
The big difference seems to be that JS7 was able to have these horrific crashes and keep
going like right out of a movie, battling an alien, getting thrown through a brick wall, and just
keep coming back. While yesterday may have been a little mistake with huge consequences,
it seems indicative of his career.
Pretty sure he was worried about his shoulder and there wasn't any good that could have come
from staying on the track. And Kawi already knows how to set that bike for a tender shoulder.
I think with all the training that guy does he's mentally strong enough to be back and ride through
an injury, He'll be back, RC4 crashed out of A1 and still won the title, but the competition is a lot
deeper with 94 only going to be faster, MM only getting more confidence, and JA more hungry.

If he’s back next week after pulling out of a main event then I’ll be shocked.

I agree with the kawi not gelling with him. He never looks as good as he did on his 15 Honda. A look at the first two rounds of the 2015 mx Nationals was impressive for him. His dominance was Incredible to watch. The crash in Colorado was very unfortunate.

Pulled off cuz he had a panic attack? Com'on!! Sure....he was freakin out a bit when he had to stop cuz of his pants, and who wouldn't look to see who is coming as you're losing positions?

Something was wrong and it was more than his pants. I'm beginning to also think concussion cuz it didn't look like a serious shoulder problem. I was at the Lakewood MX race when he 'had his simple fall'. He was hauling the mail on a rutted downhill and into a sweeper and got rag dolled! It was obvious then that he was hurt...not so last night.

I'm hoping he will be ok after perhaps a little time off to recoop. Hate to lose a top competitor this early.

Hey all you injury geniuses....Contusions can be acutely debilitating. just sayin.

For years Bubba didn't even needed to crash to pull off, he'd just get a bad start or not be on a good pace and pull off. He would always have some random injury to blame. Tomac's got a long way to go to catch the fastest DNF on the planet.
