No Fear Gear should return..

No Fear people (old and new) are not good folks!

During the transition from old company to new company, the "old" No Fear accepted my $1300 payment for new gear, etc......a week later when nothing showed up, I contacted them and was told that I needed to take that up with the "old" No Fear and the "new" No Fear could not help!!!

We dealt with No Fear for 12 years, the only gear we used.....and they treated us like shit! I burned every No Fear set of gear, shirts, jackets, hats....never been so frustrated.

I would NEVER consider No Fear or Alias.

That really sucks to lose out on $1300. You never got anywhere contacting them and getting some $$ back?

Could you not have sold the inventory you had rather than burn?

I still have this gear set and the design at the knees is exceptional for knee braces.

I think it still looks pretty damn good too.

I still have the Elektron gear set from 2006 I believe. Love the way it looks, clean and vibrant but not too flashy. It's the best gear it terms of comfort and durability I ever had. I wore it for 2 years regularly and it still looks mint. I only wear it on rare occasions now because I don't want to mess it up. Really miss their gear.

I tried several times! The "new" No Fear would have nothing to do with it. The "old" No Fear was gone....

I was very mad....I did not want anything with No Fear logo.

It was no longer about the money and more about the principal.

What changed with No Fear that they stopped making MX gear? It seemed like during 2009, their top riders (Millsaps, Windham, etc.) left them. By 2010, no one was wearing it. It seemed like they went from being on top to no where to be found in a span of a year or 2.

Assuming that Alias still have some marketing rights for the gear, are they missing out on a golden opportunity?

Put Mcgrath, Pastrana and Kdub at the helm, pick up some up and coming amateurs and bam, back in business.

Especially with Mcgrath replica helmets coming out in quick succession.. 90's stuff popping up everywhere.
Just put up 2 million quid and go for it.

Ok, Ill say a few things here:

A few of the employees and sponsored athletes of No Fear MX are now employees of Alias MX, including myself.

I worked there for almost a decade. Same with another employee, who had worked there for over 10 years. The other 2 were pro athletes for No Fear MX for many years.

In regards to Alias gear having similarities or differences, well, practically all MX gear is produced within the same handful of factories, the same factories that made gear for No Fear, and all using similar or same fabrics.
But some of the DNA and brainpower that went into developing that gear still is working together at Alias.

A group of investors own the No Fear trademark and they are doing a few things with it. So if you wanted No Fear product to come back, that would be on them. Alias has zero affiliation with them, or even know who they are.

Our goal at Alias is to provide the best quality gear for an unbeatable price through our Direct2Rider program. No other brand can do what we do in offering their newest and greatest designs at our prices. When you buy Alias gear you will have extra money so that you can ride more, which is exactly what we all should be doing.

Not exactly stirring the pot, or giving you guys any gossip, just the facts.

I look forward to hearing directly from all of you. And if you have more specific questions, please feel free to send me a DM or email me at davids@aliasmx.com

Good luck to Alias riders Christian Craig, RJ Hampshire and Eric Grondahl tonight in Minneapolis!

Might pull the trigger on some Alias gear soon. I like what you guys are trying to do and what you stand for. All I hear is good about the gear so I don't see why I wouldn't get a set! Smile

The gear was actually good looking but I could never get past the dumb No Fear name. No Fear had these lame t shirts with corny assed sayings on them, and it was a certain mullet haired AC/DC type of crowd who wore them.

Cash flow killed No fear.

The economic crash killed sales of moto products and clothing, and the company's position with their retail outlet store leases left them encumbered with large debt to the major shopping mall chains they had leased space in. They got too deep into the retail side of things, because they didn't have the distribution channels of Fox, Thor/Parts Unlimited, Tucker/Answer/MSR, Fly/WPS. No Fear was huge in certain regions, but their national dealer network was not on the level of the other major gear brands.

When you aren't making money and reach your debt cap, suppliers stop making or shipping product for you unless you have cash, and when you are in bankruptcy protection it makes it difficult to function as a company.

There were also company/personnel changes that led the No Fear MX brand down a different path, since No Fear MX started off as a licensed name operated by Surwall with McGrath as the name behind the brand. I'm pretty sure that also changed over the years to No Fear corporate taking over.

At the end it was a complicated corporate structure for No Fear/No Fear MX/No Fear Energy drink/No Fear stores/ etc plus all of the side ventures the Simo brothers and the main partners had going on. Mark and Brian have moved on to other projects and tried all sorts of avenues to keep No Fear alive, but it just wasn't viable after the market collapse. They would be a good interview for a podcast or magazine feature.

I think someone ended up buying the old inventory and the name through the bankruptcy. That might have been the issue for the guy above that didn't get his product New No Fear/Old No Fear. Which sucks, hind site is always 20/20, but there is always recourse for undelivered goods, stop payments through the bank or credit card companies normally side immmediatly with the purchaser.

The retail stores were spun off into a seperate company at one point called XRyderz, the gear wasn't directly spun off, but a lot of the main players of the gear division started Alias.

if anyone is interested, i'm selling this old set of mine. it was legit only worn 2-3 times. it's either 2002 or 2003 model year gear. Pants are 32", jersey XL (i feel it's cut small, i normally wear 32/L in newer gear).

$50 + shipping

This is me for sure-the dumb t-shirts were popular when I was in high school and they just seemed super lame to me so I never even considered wearing the gear.

Still have quite a bit of it.
The gear was sweet looking, but ya the name was just too cheesey. The old school shift gear was the best imo.

No Fear was the coolest brand back in the day, i remember that i got a set of yellow/black No Fear gear when i turned 9 or 10. It was comparable to getting a new bike.

Alias in all its glory is nowhere near No Fear. I feel like No Fear was a bit a head of its time with design and colors.

I tried to buy a few sets of them in 2010 or 2011 when they still had them in stock. Too bad that they wouldn't ship them to Finland.

i also think that Alloy should come back. they came and went pretty fast. i remember being one of the only dudes at the track wearing it. i think that’s why i liked them so much.

interesting to see how so many people, along with I, think No Fear was iconic gear. seemed very much ahead of its time. you could wear any of that stuff nowadays and it wouldnt look dated at all.

i don’t see much resemblance between no fear and alias so i wonder if alias has the same design team. i’d imagine not.

i did hate however how cheesy their lower end casual clothes used to be

dirt bikes are neat
