Tomas seems to be burn out after 2 series of hard fights. He needs some days off what I can tell from outside after working 12 months day in and out.

Man tough crowd in here. Our guys looked great at the US GP races last year. They were in it at the MXDN even down a man who won a moto and got landed on. Now they're a bunch of bums? No wonder guys don't want to do these type of races if this is the thanks they get. Sometimes the better man/men won't be our guys. Everts in his day beat both RC and Stewart at the Des Nations. But RC won more than his share too. This is world class level and some days you just don't have it. Enjoy the show.

Don't know why some American fans are so surprised at Herlings' speed. GP fans have been saying it for years. It's good to see he is finally getting the praise he deserves from a lot more people. Guys a freak of nature.

We all know Tomac is not riding to his full potential and that's such a pity but today could be totally different. Let's hope for a good race between them all today !

Thats not only whats it about. Herlings is finally on a level again he wasnt for years on. 2013/2014 till he broke his femur. Afther that i never saw the Herlings again. Even last year in the end of 2016 he wasnt on that level again. I guess it was in his head. Titles, titles, tiltles....this year the title was gone, he gets fit and look what we've got

That moment when the Americans finally realise what we have known for years.
Like i have said, you cant have an opinion on Herlings till you have seen it with your own eyes.

And now they have.

Aaaannnnnndddd, this X3.

Man, as hard as folks are coming down on Tomac, I'm thinking Dungey is saying "Thank God I'm out of racing". Anytime one of our top riders don't do as expected, they get railed by a certain number of fans.
That being said, Herlings is a next level rider, him and AC222 are almost like the second coming of JS7 and RC......Almost! It's painfully apparent that Tomac is not at his best, who knows why but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. A lot of the AMA field is damaged right now, and it almost looks as though those who are still healthy are over the remainder of the season. I think it would be incredible to see a 6 series of three tracks in the US and 3 in Europe, but it will NEVER happen. Sometimes the Euros are on top, sometimes the US riders are. One or two races per year is not enough to claim that one group s better than the other. Just enjoy great riders in front of you.

If this was Glen Helen, Tomac would be on top no doubt about it.

Maybe, maybe not.
This track is more neutral, and I don't think he's got much for the top GP riders.
Would be fun if he's gets a good start today in the top 5.

No way Tomac is an 11th place rider. Didn't Barcia and Cooper auger themselves? I have a feeling he didn't want that for himself yesterday!

Just a shame people can't look at the clues and want to jump to conclusions after qualifying day. Last time I checked Eli went 4-0 last year in GPs. Today is race day, not yesterday... He didn't win the qualifying race at Glen Helen either 6th over 2 seconds a lap off the pace and we see what happened there. I get no Herlings but you tell me those guys didn't want a win and wanted to let him do them like that...

Yesterday, Eli lap 2 segment 2 only 84 and 222 were faster the whole race and we know lap 2 I bet Eli didn't have clean track where he was in the pack. Or last lap segment 1 was his fastest segment 1. He has the speed he wasn't showing it it's almost like saying Jaguars beat Patriots in preseason football what is wrong with New England????? Haha. Guess we will see today...

he didnt have the speed in quali , no matter how fast some segments were .. just a fast segment doesnt make fast lap times , as a fast laptime doesnt win races .. here you go , all laptimes from Herlings and Tomac

Agree with you on its just a quali race , he could have same strategy as last year ..taking it easy on saturday and go full throttle on sunday , lets see what happens today as he can still win both moto's .. absolutely
but dont tell me he was fast and had the speed in quali , he gained only 3 spots and 1 because of Barcia's crash . he was way off

Hope to see the real Tomac today win or loose ...

Back in the early days of MX in the USA they had the "first American" award. I think it may be time to bring that back

Not anymore, Tomac just won by a 28 second lead. Guess will have to see if that holds up for the second moto as well.

Uhh, didn't Tomac just get beat by Herlings yet again on American soil, with no championship to worry about....? Please elaborate.

Um....? Equal starts in the second Moto and Eli was dropped pretty convincingly. Both Tony and Herlings on another level.

By Jeffrey he surely did.....in the 2nd moto. O/A.....with a 2nd place , I'd say that's pretty good considering he was the only competitive American there. Go back through this thread and some guys were making sound like he may not break top 10. Laughing

MX2.....again , proud of our American's.

And the big picture , I'd say I'm pretty damn proud how our American brother's rode today. After yesterday with Eli qualifying 12th....I wasn't to confident on how he would do today.....but I didn't " speculate " like most in here did. That's why the hold the races.....right.

I see quite a few Nostrodumbass's in this thread that got made out to be fools.

But please carry on.....

I think it would be good for the Yankees to raise their level, to do their national races like the GPs where the lower categories participate, 65cc, 85cc, 125cc, 250cc, 300cc 2 Stroke, Women.

Men against boys in that second moto! Eli "suprised by the pace of those two early on", "track beat me up".

The sample size of the last 2 weeks is sufficient enough for me. In 450's Cairoli and Herlings are better than our best. I had high hopes for Webb but his debut season fizzled. I'd bet heavily on the US if there were a SXoN, though.

Men against boys lol , is that comment really necessary British troll ? Well I guess there were plenty of GP "boys" behind him in that second moto too.

They've been eating crow for a long, long time. Tomac gets 2nd overall but but but.

And let's not even talk about MX2.

AHAH I was there.... Tomac checked out 1st moto pretty good to say the least... Second Moto was a championship moto between 222 and 84... Tomac had nothing to prove and wasn't getting paid to put it on the line, and it was so damn hot why take any risk.... He just did his moto and I think in his mind he knew where he was and definitely rode less enthusiastic and with less english so to say (PUT INTENDED) in that super hot 2nd moto... AND was even a good sport about it and gave credit where credit was due... So stop the BS ... they are all GREAT riders.

Meanwhile from the horses mouth... "suprised by the pace of those two early on", "track beat me up". Tomac set one 2:03 in that first moto, Cairoli and Herlings both set that kinda pace more than once in a rougher second moto. Eli was just beaten straight up.
