My daughter is 3 and loves to watch moto. I know she will want a mini the day she lays her eyes on one. I am honestly very torn about it, but I have a feeling I won't have a choice. She even likes the green bikes, and I was never a Kawi dude!

Can't ride hard, but can twist the grip for a while. I'd now rather spend my time on full 2T CR125 rebuilds. Stacking them up.

You kids at 40+, carry on... You'll thank me later.Wink

At 40 on my 97 CR250

At 56 on my 06 CRF450



I loved racing in my forties all the way into my mid-fifties but now that I'm on the doorstep of 60, (59) I have to admit I haven't pulled up to the gate in a few years. Dry

Been mostly trail riding and doing dual sport along with street bike riding.
When it cools down I hope to get back out to the track.

48. I ride the occasional practice day at MX and trail ride as often as I can. I'm slow but, still have a blast. Get a bike.

43 and never really stopped took a few years off here and there. I try to ride at least once a week but also bmx sled mtn bike and do whatever my 6 year old wants.

I'm 51 and still ride/race. Well I only race 2-3 times a year. Just hate spending all day at the track is the only reason I don't race more.

Old thread but yes. I just took some time off after some nagging old injuries just wouldn't heal and the private track sold but still no worries jumping monsters in my 40's.

The youngest I feel is when I'm on the track... just getting ready to ride gets me excited.

44 years old and loving everytime I ride, do I race... just the ghost of myself. Do I clear all the big shit on the track, I know I can and the best part is knowing I don't have to.

I still find my corner speed is better than most on both my 250 2 stroke and 450 and love railing past the young kids after they pass me on the triple step up over to the down side monstrosity on the track I ride!

How come I never see pictures of one of us old guys (50 and over) railing a deep rut or something (ex pros do not count)? Have we all just decided it's easier to make up time in the air? Let's see some corner shots!

Yeah, im class of 84 also. Now ride but dont race. Im not gonna be a liar. I haven't got anything for these young boys on the track. My last race I was lapped by some muscle queen with a nose ring. Humbling

Well did you do it? Maybe I missed the update? I got back into it at 40 , stopped again at 48. 56 now and think about it almost every day. But my knees tell me no. Ha ha.

I'm 46, I ride with a group of friends ages 30-64 once week, we all race about once a month. We all cannot wait for our Thursday's at GH. Just good times.......

Look, I am over 70 and still ride MX. Racing is few and far between due to age, but the thrill of riding still is there.
I also have a friend and riding buddy that is the current AHRMA national champion in the over 70 classes. I also have another riding buddy that is 79 and I find it very hard to keep up with him on the track.
So yes, do it and have a blast!

I'm 55 and still getting faster, and expect to be in the best shape of my life later this year (working on it every week).
I plan on racing again soon, possibly Sep 2nd.
I ride a YZ125 BTW.

Great old thread. So I'm doing something shocking I'm 50. Just Bought a new Husky FC350 from Halls Husqvarna in Springfield IL and going to learn to do all kinds of racing. Gonna Be Shannon Nidays oldest student. Haven't had a bike since I was 20!

I'm 42, I was about to get back on the race bandwagon and then a 50+ racer in our moto community suffered broken back and currently paralyzed. I've converted to trail riding on a ktm 300xc and love it. Still really challenging trails, just without the jumps and speed and one of the best parts is getting away from people for a while. The other problem I have with racing is if I get hurt at an event, my insurance is not going to cover it.

Man that 15 Honda is so slow I'm stretching it out. I've hit that thing 100 times as fast as i can go on that pig and i have never once landed past the top shoulder of landing and its a really long landing. The manager Loren told me he was going to take the pic right then and i kind of gooned it out a bit but it is still my favorite shot. Smile

Same here. Old guys pay the bills. Soon to be 43 here. Took a year off here and there. Always came back. Started riding at 8 years old.

Same here. It's becoming an old guy sport. If you think 40 is old, I don't. I've been racing since I was 12 with only a few short breaks and I'm 44 now. I think I'm still getting faster, definately getting uglier.
