The woody graphics are my favorite.. TJ I believe still makes replicas of the graphics, but they're not the original design. Very close resemblance though.

So I took it out today, set the sag, checked tire pressure, looked over some bolts, besides that didn't do a thing.

WOW. It's a good bike. Brakes and suspension perfect, controls and handling unreal.

Power was great, delivery was even pretty darn good bottom to top.

One thing for sure it does not hook up like my 450 lol. That back end is sideways and flat tracking all over lol.

Super fun though. I was riding it well too so I'm happy with that. Definitely is a work out! All in all super impressed. Whoever had this originally really dialed it in perfect and somehow was basically the same size as me so it's unreal!

I buy every late model two stroke I can find around here......I bring them back to oem standards including graphics and then stash them in a secret storage unit of mine until I either take one out and ride it or sell it, ( I haven't done either with any of the bikes yet) I tell my son that when I pass away, know these bikes are valuable and DON'T GIVE THEM AWAY.....in this pic there is a 2006 rm 250.....a 2001 cr 500 .....a 2004 kx 500.....a 2007 cr 250.....I'm also working on a 1983 cr 60....an 82 yz 80 ....a 1994 honda cub.....a 2004 cr 250 and a 2003 cr 250 that will soon go to the collection. I grew up without a lot of money so I suppose I'm making up for lost time a little bit.......I love searching out and fixing these babies up for sure.

I'm searching out a 1990 kx 250 right now......if anyone around me knows of one, Id appreciate a message...Smile I don't mind paying a fair price if its what I'm looking for.....(not thrashed and abused and not taken care of..)

Update
Ordered a complete polisport plastics set.
Going to order clear vinyl to protect some high wear areas. See how that works out.

Going to order the complete Woody kit with backgrounds and all shortly. Waiting to hear from a new job before I drop the hammer on this and the rest. But the plastics was a must.

Considering little by little : a boyesen exhaust flange, 04 intake, 07 airborne, 05-07 base gasket, flywheel weight, and dropping a tooth or two off the rear. All in the name of broader power and hooking up a little more. It's awesome as is but if we could spread it out a touch keep it in the meat longer it'll be even better.

Consider the Airstriker carb and a boyesen rad valve helps waken the low end up......and also if you do drop a couple teeth on the rear, you may have a harder time getting on the pipe when you want to. In fact on mine I'm bumped up a tooth on the rear. These bikes rev so well that you don't need to worry as much about losing much up top. Coming off that 450 you just gotta get that clutching and bangin gears smoothed out again.....def gotta ride it a lot different, but 2 stroke power is what makes dirtbiking fun. Brrrrappppp. Anyway, just a couple thoughts from a fellow 03 owner. And I just enjoy clicking on this thread to see the beautiful stock set up. Like most MX'ers I decked mine out when I got it, from engine covers to hubs......these days I'm beginning to appreciate the stock look more and more and a little bummed I don't still have all the OEM stuff anymore.

This is just an awesome collection, well done.....I probably enjoy rebuilding smokers more than any other bike, street or dirt. There's nothing sexier than a pristine dent free 2 stroke pipe. The way 2 strokes have been taking off in price, these things are only going up in value.....hopefully your son appreciates them as much as you do.

Nice find! I've had an 03 and an 06. They are great bikes! The only place I miss my 450's is in the sand. Tough to beat a 250 2stroker!

Should I get a 2000 Cr250 carb? Can get them for 190 new.

What's the best route? Jd jetting sells one for 280 or so.

Yes to the 2000 cr250 carb. That's exactly what you want. Makes that motor way less finicky and jetting is a breeze.
