For sure, he had a few bonehead moves early in the year...and a bonehead tipover in NJ. I just like the fact he is always racing forward, and shows no mercy on those that he passes lol.

I love it that the "asterisk" guys...the guys who ever since Dungey won his first title have cried that he didn't deserve it, that he was gifted his championship...are STILL HERE two championships later crying the same thing! Face it, Ryan will probably win this one too, and no matter if Tomac crashed, had a bike issue or a meltdown...Ryan still will have the points lead when the smoke clears at Vegas. He will again beaten everybody that lined up against him...and that's all that matters.

There are no "asterisk champions" in motocross.

Dude, I thought you started this thread out pretty good - even said so. However, now you're just going off into the same old argument that so many have already beaten to death here. Why?

You even said that the whole points/tactics discussion was for another thread. Just let it go. Both guys are great riders and great personalities for the sport. We all won with this season. I was about over SX until this season turned so good. I only wish KRoc had been around for the whole thing. In fact, I wish none of the guys ever got hurt. Not one of them.

I guess we all just have to agree that Eli won the popular vote, but Ryan won the title. They were both riding under the same set of rules, how can anyone say there is a "problem" that has to be solved?

It's true that if KTM switched roles with Kawi, Grant would have EASILY gotten out of the way for Eli. Would we still be angry if the roles were switched or is it just convenient to bag on KTM because their guys are pretty much always one and two anyway?

I don't disagree with your assessment of Eli's great racing performances this year. However, I'm not ready to go changing points settings around even though Eli has three times the wins. He's also finished off the podium more times this season than Ryan has in three... with worse results to boot even if we throw out Eli's 15th place front brake ordeal.

The question here is... Should it matter if a racer can podium his competition to death?! I say yes.
One more race left. Anything can happen. Hang in there everyone!

I was kind of rooting for Dungey to win it just to give him a championship that was more valid than the others, but he just rolled over and let Eli whoop him. Ryan is great rider but he is kind of boring in the fact that he rolls over against faster competiton, i.e. RV and Eli. Don't think it wouldn't have been the same if Roczen had kept winning and that's what would have happened at nationals last year too.

I am now hoping that Dungey has a mechanical because Eli is more deserving, in my opinion. I solely feel this way because of how Dungey responded down the stretch and pretty much rolled over.
The way it looked before Roczen crashed is that Eli was the one rolling over.
