Marvin didn't give dungey the title, tomac did. But still, it isn't over until it's over.

Serious question...when's the last time someone won with 3 wins or less? Idk how many he had least year but it was more then 3.

Feel good story of the year in the making. I am happy that Ryan is back in the driver seat for the final round.

Look, Marvin let him by but big deal. If you didn't expect it you don't watch any sport. I like Tomac fine but the red plate carried some weight. He never even got around Grant.

Someone needs to call it like it is here: Dunge is a great racer, champion and human being, class act, top knotch person. However, he's very boring. He puts the sleeper on every championship.

That's the only reason for any backlash. He's an all timer just not very exciting. Tomac and Roczen are win or bust, more exciting.

Not sure how to take this. To be clear I'm a Dungey fan but I'm a Tomac fan too. He's humble and works hard. I expect him to dominate outdoors and I'm not going to get in a keyboard fight about it.

Dungey was on it all night. Even IF Tomac didn't crash twice Dungey had him covered. You can't crash twice (once while leading) and expect to win a championship. Pure and simple, Tomac choked and the crème rose to the top.

Would have been a great saying if they hadn't said it repeatedly on the broadcast.

Well, if kawi had a brain they would put every 250 rider not in contention on a 450 and start them next to the red plate in Vegas. Ask Bubba, shit happens.

That and I'm wondering the other way. Who's had 9+ wins, raced the whole season, and didn't win the championship?

The answer to both questions is 1992 when Stanton won title with 3 wins over Bradshaw's 9 wins. and I believe Ward's 85 sx title was with only 1 win.

Plus, I think most of us would agree that Dunge really "should" only have 2 wins at this point and Marv "should" have 1 more.. Not including whatever happens in Vegas

I think i remember hearing of someone (maybe Emig?) winning the championship with about 1 win. I want to say it was late '90s?

You tend to not win championships when you finish 8th or worse 3 times and 5th or worse another 2.

Emig stopped MCs perfect season in 96 with one win but MC won the title by a mile. Emigs title in 97 was with multiple wins.

It has happened in the 125/lites class and even Ferry's 97 125 east title came with no wins but all 2nd place finishes.
I dont believe the title has been won in the premier sx class with less than 3 wins

Someone beginning to realise that a "Chase" format in SX would fix some of these issues?
