So you're saying they might hand out one of the most severe penalties in the history of SX (suspending for 4 races) for disregarding a blue flag? Alrighty, just wanted to clarify.
JT, I just answered with a hypothetical on how a penalty could affect Chad beyond the scope of the championship. More or less bringing the thought of how a penalty could affect a rider based off contracts with their teams. At no point am I saying that's what he would or could get. I'm also not saying that's my opinion of what he should receive for a penalty.

Just clarifying what I was posting about and how I meant it.

Depending upon how his contract is written, benching him for the remaining races might actually affect his paycheck from his team. This depends of course if being benched works the same as injury clauses in his contract and if he has said clauses in his contract (if you miss X amount of races, X amount of dollars is cut from your contract pay). But, that's a bunch of ifs depending upon his contract and a possible penalty triggering any existing clauses.

Pretty sure your camp was calling for Chisolm's head once upon a time. Maybe step away from the keyboard for the night, cool down a bit. This seems incredibly hypocritical.

I simply posed a question. I'm cool, and keyboard super steady. Thanks for the concern, though!

Voted but still sort of irrelevant. Reed did not get black flagged during the race, which is the prescribed penalty for his action. If the AMA were to penalize him post race and they do not have the correct provisions for such action in their rule book then they face legal recourse. Which I've read all of the AMA SX rulebook and did not see anything in there saying that ignoring a blue flag can be penalized AFTER the race. Here's what's going to happen, Reed will get a warning and in the future if this happens black flags will get to waving real quick.

Did they do anything to Tomac when he unlapped himself a couple of years ago? What about Stewart in Atlanta last year? Or Wey in San Diego a few years ago? Don't be ridiculous.

You have to admit is was a dick move on chads part. If the roll was reversed, what do you think Chad would be doing right now? He may have parked him on the way by. I'm not calling you out by any means. You and I both know it was a dick move.

Well, that's cool. In my opinion, your guy fucked up. I know this is a forum of "vitards" and you insiders are holier than thou, but that's my story and I'm stickin to it. Reed is a very vocal, and emotional rider - he would have a fit if someone held him up like that. He undoubtedly knows what is right and wrong in the realm of racing, and that was wrong. Blatantly wrong.

For what it's worth, I don't think Dungey was going to catch Tomac anyway. But Reed disrupted the race and deserves a stiff penalty.

As I stated above, I haven't said anything towards my opinion if he should or shouldn't receive a penalty. It's a big moment of the year and everyone is being pretty vocal about their thoughts on the penalty. In the case of a poll, it's a way for me to get a purely numerical based answer on how our crowd is leaning on this subject.

(For the record, we've already killed some pretty out of place thread titles against Chad that were very out of line and someone has been canned for being extreme in their comments against Chad)

Out of curiosity...
In your own opinion.. What rule did Reed clearly break to be penalized for?
To move out of the fast line?
The so-called fast line could be a matter of opinion, keep that in mind...
He held his line and didn't ride erratic.

Well, your opinion is yours and no problem there. I can say that there is a lot to this story that played out in both the heat and the main and probably will again moving forward it seems.

It's not my place to defend or condemn. These are all big boys and have their own battles to fight.

I only jumped in when I saw a vital member mentioning a kick in the nuts and wanted to extend an invitation to attempt said maneuver at his convenience.

Is it true that you banned a guy for saying that Chad should've been black flagged?

I can appreciate your attempt at playing devil's advocate, but I disagree. The rule says when it is safe to do so, move out of the fast line. Reed received multiple blue flags, yet refused to move out of the fast line.

The only, and I mean only scenario I could understand Reed's antics would be if he wasn't aware that Dungey was behind him. But seeing as he got the blue flag when Eli went by, I highly doubt that.

Fair enough. I think the comment about Chad's nuts was probably a joke, though. Oh well.

What was your stance on people distrupting hard working Americans trying to get to work Mr. Portland? Protesting Trump seems sillier than this.

Jt$, with all due respect to your mx/sx accomplishments and your position in the sport, it sure seems like you're trying to do damage control for Chad. Chad's actions were wrong.....plain and simple. He's being lapped. Put emotions aside, get out of the way and let the points leaders race. .

I understand where you are coming from...
However, I suppose it will be up to the ama to define the actual fast line,I suppose throughout the track.
Inside,Outside,Middle,here ,there everywhere...etc..
And I don't think a rider has to slow and let anyone by willing-fully(probably like he should've done - to not change Dungey's pace).
As I said in this thread earlier...should be interesting to see what the ama does...if anything.

I agree with this. I also think it was an admission of being guilty when he ran of the track to the pits after the race.

I also have been wondering what's up while everyone is distracted by Reed. If I were a betting man I'd bet Musquin's pit board said something along the lines of "back off or find a new team". No way he was that much slower after being right on his tail.
