Don't you think that if in fact James was riding, Mookie wouldn't have to be riding at Reeds, and that Mookie might be in a little better shape because he and James would both be riding and pushing each other, therefore gaining some fitness? James had 16 months to get himself into race shape again, while on a factory bike with a salary and resources. Why would he try hard now with no resources, no factory bike, no salary, and everything coming out of his pocket? I hate to say it, because racing is better with him, and he it's truly one of the last greats from an era that will never be replicated, but if you were at Washougal last summer, I think you saw the last of JS7...

Many of you are in for quite a surprise come Saturday. This is coming from a very unreliable source.

He went 1-1 at High Point that same year, not SX but would still be his last professional win. I don't count straight rhythm.

He shows up, does the opening ceremonies, maybe a parade lap, and announces his retirement.

3 basic options here:

1. He's been training low key purposefully getting off social media to make a quiet comeback.

2. He's been doing nothing and isn't coming back.

3. He's still been doing nothing much, just wants to make an appearance for the fans and disappear again.

He caught a lot of heat, I see it here and everywhere else on social media. Seeing that kind of stuff is hurtful no matter who you are. I'm not surprised he's been quiet, and I think it was good for him to do so even as frustrating as it's been.

I think he will show up at Daytona, my guess is we hear something on Wednesday.

What makes you think he could win right now? When was the last time he won a race? 4 years ago or something? Stop being delusional. In no world could James win Daytona sx unless it was the KTM junior challenge. Seriously, Carmichael could beat James this weekend. He would probably need an IV at the end of the race but at least he would finish.

Like I said not saying they would Agnes. Maybe u should take middle school reading comprehension class. It's clearly hypothetical. Rv2 didn't even podium in Australia, against the likes of Reed and Brayton. So obviously James probably can't. But again, punchers chance. Say Daytona is a mudder for example. Pretty much anyone in the main could win at that point. See Daytona 1987 for reference.
Pretty sure preparation needs to meet opportunity and not anyone can win. 87' SX gave hope to privateers but not anyone can win sorry bro.

I've got nuthin'.

It would be cool to see James in action...as long as he's in shape, prepared, and serious about putting in a good ride.

On the other hand, if he wanted to do a parade lap, wave to the fans, and call it a career, I'd be equally good with that.

Damnit.

Can we get a Vital MX poll of what our vital members think will happen at Daytona?

1. Races
2. Retires
3. No show
