Tomac lapped me lol

Greatest/shittiest races of my life. 2008 Lake Whitney warm up race Supermini class, think this was the heat race but I had gotten lapped by Eli Tomac and got to watch him and Lance Vincent battle it out for about 4 or 5 corners lol Also remember Bogle wearing his bright orange helmet during his Supermini Days. Anyone remember how fast Zeb Smith was at Whitney? Also got to see Blake and Tyler Wharton race their brand new Geico Honda's before they turned pro. Just a cool moment and experience for me. Sorry y'all I'm bored lol

Tommy Searle blast past me in a loamy corner at a practice track a few years ago (Tony Moto), was on rails. In a different world of speed and talent. haha

Cool pic man and your story brings back memories. Yeah Zeb was a Whitney local being from the Dallas area. His mom would run the gate there. Zeb was Justin's younger brother and was a ripper. Justin was the one that got landed on in San Diego supercross in 02 and sustained brain injuries. He was one of the first riders for the Shark/Plano Honda with Travis Elliott. Zeb rode for Honda of Houston later on but he too had some bad injuries. I think he broke neck at mini o's.

Jimmy Albertsons almost landed on me off Holy Schmidt at Millville with one hand in the bars, back when the jump was huge.

Clark Stiles blew my doors off a few years ago at a local track here called Deer Run mx. There was this flat right hand corner then a small drop off into a valley then back up into a right hand 180. He went through the section faster than I thought was humanly possible.

And this was a few years after his retirement lol

It's amazing how many people forgot how big that jump was. It's quite the booter on pro day now but nothing like it was when they first added it.

Back in like 2010, I was riding at Three Palms in Houston. I was on my yz250, and could hear what I thought was a 250f behind me. I went into a left hand turn, and Vann Martin punted me off the track on his crf150! I was pretty quick too, fast b rider

I had Josh Hill blow by me through an inside rut at Perris one day when he rode for Yamaha. Had Dungey and RV blow by me around the outside of a fast right hander at Perris also. Really humbles you when you think you're hauling ass.

My claim to fame though was a Thursday at Glen Helen when Grant was riding for Amsoil Honda. I was on my stock 07 YZ250F and he came up behind me. I pulled him up Mount Saint Helens and led him down the hill also, but when we got to the bottom it was a pretty soft rutted straight away. Needless to say, I checked up and he blew by me. I felt good being able to pull him up the hill though!

Years ago at our long gone Iron Mustang's (Brighton, Michigan) Wednesday Night club I saw Brian Swink coming up behind me. As if I needed to I gave him room while seat-bouncing a double out of a corner which lead into a series of jumps, and as the Swinkster went flying past to quad a series of jumps I got sucked into his jet-stream and over-shot the triple as I pogo'd off of the 4th jump. Thankfully I saved it before the next double because that section of the track was always rock hard!

The epic whip pic of Carmichael over it shows just how big it was!

Years ago Kyle Corman showed up to a local race. I had him in my "B" class and the races were 6 laps (maybe 13-15 minute motos.)

Kyle lapped almost half the field. He blew by me at a speed I could never comprehend. I rode pretty decent for me and just couldn't believe that he was able to put me a lap down in that short of a race.

This was probably his last year before the bottom fell out and he fell off the map.

I got wooped by Windham in Ocala when he was a 15 year old waiting to turn 16 so he could go Pro... I was 26. In fact, during the first lap of practice that morning, I went out right behind him and shadowed him for much of that first lap.. I'm sure he was checking out lines and I was probably trying too hard. We came to a 4th gear jump and he left the inside wide open for me so I took the bait. Turns out there was a huge mud pit on the landing if you were in my line, so I went from 4th gear wide open, to a dead stop in .0002 seconds. That left a mark. I was seriously detuned the rest of the day. So yeah.. I got lapped, but he wooped everyone that day so I don't feel so bad. Damn crafty Cajun.. Lol.

I got my ass handed to me for about 4 months after I turned expert, Basically I won every moto for about 5 months including every round of the Texas Winter series in the intermediate (A) class. Was forced to move up to pro-am and was embarrassed for several months till i gained a little speed and a ton of conditioning. I had Billy Whitley rub my rear tire for about 4 laps at Whitney but couldn't pass me for 4th. (cooper won that day) When I made a switch to Honda I beat Robby Van Winkle, the next week he was on a Honda. (pretty laughable now!)

It's hard to comprehend how much speed pro's can carry around a track until you're out there with them. It's always a humbling experience.

Very similar, except for the beer and his hand didn't come off until he cased the shit out of it.

Got clanked by Scott Champion at Soaring Eagle. (He shouldn't have been in the Vet practice). Rode with RJ and Doug Dubach at Iron Mustangs, twice. Zach Osbourne, and Davi Millsaps at Baja Acres. Mike and Jeff Alessi at Log Road. Chris Fillmore, Jared Mees at Freelin. Probably forgetting others. All of them way faster than me. Good times......

Daryl Hurley smashed my leg to bits after I got the holeshot, got tapped from behind on the next jump and landed sideways as Hurls was coming down on me. Probably shouldn't have been trying to run with those guys.

Robbie Reynard and I took each other out in the first turn at Burns Park in Arkansas in like 1991 or 1992. We were on 80's. He proceeded to get up and still lap everyone I believe. He was stupid fast on mini's.

How about Kyle Cunningham during his Supermini days?
Everyone go watch In The Ranks 1 & 2!

I got to take a nice little trip to the hospital racing at Burns one year haha. It's a shame the track is gone. My sons and I still race at the BMX track there.

I holeshot and beat Damon Bradshaw at possibly the only harescramble he ever raced. He was 15 and I was late 20's at the time. He did catch me and pull away but he crashed or had bike trouble, I can't remember.

Mitchel Oldenburg and his bro used to come to Cycle Ranch on race days all the time. Raced against them quite a few times back in their Supermini days on 150s. But just really cool to see him riding on factory bikes now! Dude is fast

Steven martens blew past me at hangtown with speed I couldn't believe. Same with Micheal brandes at E Street in northern CA. Went around me and were gone.

Had Josh Hill throw a big old scrub right next to me over a table top when he came down for Manjimup, was incredible how much distance he pulled on me just in the air, makes you understand how beneficial it is to stay low. Same day had Kirk Gibbs come flying up the inside fairly close on a sweeper, felt like I was standing still.

Was told by Andrew Mcfarlane a few years back how he was passed by Carmichael like he was stuck in first gear, could not comprehend where the speed came from

Jeff Ward lapped me once, it was a couple years ago, he was in the +50 class. I was 25....
