ok so in my opinion no way will JS get a call....I expect IF HRC want to get a rider on the bike it will be Noren or Shorty but perhaps even Mookie. Noren isnt a great SX rider but knows the bike well and has a good relationship with Honda...Mookie would get better results but no sure what Honda thinks of him. Shorty might get the ride over Mookie.due ot his SX experience on the 450.

Maybe it'd be different because it's HRC, but I doubt it. Malcolm was already offered a fill in position at JGR and turned it down because it's temporary and he has his own gig in place now. No way Honda offers James a ride IMO, like many have already said.

Don't think there's even a chance (however RAD it would be), but here's a few interesting ideas: Kroc and JS7 share Red Bull and Oakley as sponsor's, yeah? The second AMA SX all-time race winner is without a ride, and arguably still has the most fans (or close to it). Why not let him ride out 2017 SX (assuming Roczen's out till, at earliest, the Nationals) and then announce a 2018 swan song on the last Japanese bike he hasn't ridden? The guy is a legend and could end his career gracefully and on the color he could have started with (insert Fox photo of JS259 testing CR125 back in the day)...

I'm sure Red Bull and Oakley could afford a lucrative bonus plan (especially with Kroc on the sidelines for a bit) and if all else fails, I vote for a JS7 to HRC Gofundme!

If he's gonna be free, what have Honda got to lose?
I know he's been accident proned over the last couple of years, but so has Canard ( if not longer and he still gets a factory ride)
As for James he just doesn't seem as determined to me anymore and has become more accident prone aswell.
I don't know, flip a coin , which ever one is lucky enough to get it, I hope it becomes a positive thing for them and the sport.

Tbh the most logical hire is Wilson by a mile. Top10 in a field where it is almost mission impossible to get a top 5-7 if not on a ktm/husky/honda, he proved his value. Unless yam officialise something shortly, like at least pitting this 3rd bike in SX+outdoor on a bonus thing.

I would love to see JS7, especially on a husky, but i don't see that happening with Honda. I feel that if people see other violent crashes like that they will start to think it is the bike and that is the last thing honda wants (I.e. yzf rep for half a decade).

The JS7/HRC deal will not happen. Stamp that.

Deano/HRC? Brayton/HRC? Neither one sounds right. Neither are even consistant top-10 guys, and a factory bike ain't gonna change that. Why would Honda make the investment? I'd stick with Seeley for SX and hope KR is back for the outdoors.

I bet James is not in race shape yet. Now, I could be wrong, but James just doesn't have a history of training when he isn't racing. He is a boot camp type of guy that trains only when he has to.

They have spent a metric shit ton of money on upping HRC's involvement in racing SX/MX not to mention an all new 2017 CRF450. They want to get that bike in front of as many peoples eyes as possible.


Hell give JS7 and DW15 rides. Just get someone else riding a HRC bike at this point. Both can be had cheap.

I'm sure JS7 will not be offered that ride. But I can't believe the people who don't think he could top 5 if he was in shape & his heart was in it. That's so ridiculous! I'm an RV fan & he could do the same.
