Probably quite a few, but probably haven't changed employers as often.......

Now the real question would be how many electricians, machinists, carpenters, etc have been apprentices for 12 years......

He hasn't.

I've been a designer for 12 years. At the same place? Nope.

Did I mail it in at a few places where I had a cushy setup. Yep.

Should I have moved on and made more money earlier. Yep.

That is the thing though, he can't make more money by moving up.

If no one is offering him a 450 ride, why not stay in the 250 class earn more money than most could dream off and race a dirt cycle!

He is not even the oldest rider in the class this year Smile

I would much rather be in Davlos shoes at the moment than Wilson's, that might change, but might not.

Bunch of haters....Martin is a good guy, by all accounts. He rides a 450 very well and would have made the main tonight on one. Don't hate the player...hate the game.

Yep, that's my point. I could.

Wow.

So many stupid asses in here.

1. Let me know when you give up a really good paying gig due to the opinion of ignorant ass holes on the internet.

2. Go tell the Factory Teams who to hire and let us know how loud they laugh at you.

3. Dude, do you even bench?
Ask a guy like RC or James why they move up and they'll tell you they wanna race the best and be the best.

Ask Davalos why he doesn't move up and what's his answer gonna be? I make more money in this class?

I guess some of the competitiveness goes away after a certain point and it becomes just another job and it's make as much as you can and get out. We should also just stop calling the 450 class the premiere class and adjust salaries, pay out and bonuses so they equal the 250 class since it's just another pro class. I don't wanna live in a world where athletes strive to move up the ranks to be the best and race the best. I'd rather see them be content knowing they're building their nest egg up for my entertainment value.

I was only asking. I didn't mean to damn him to Hell
If the rules let him then he should ride 250s if he likes. Its a free country.

If he hasn't pointed out then why should he move up? He hasn't been able to string enough good rides together to point out of the class so until he does I say let him stay

Wow. Dudes playin by the rules - he's damn fast on a 250- there's absolutely no doubt he'd be making much less on a 450, mookie won the title, what was his result tonight again? Oh that's right, he doesn't have a ride. Davo didn't win any titles, what would he get. He's only in it to make coin? Is that unfair? I'm pretty sure he's risking his life for that coin just like everyone else out there, you'd want as much as you can get too. James and RC both won. Lots. Including titles, they moved up because they had to, or because they could get more money on a 450. The OEM's want their bikes winning, I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted them to move up to sell more expensive 450's. I'm pretty sure davo's where he should be. It blows my mind how people nit pick the shit out of the riders. He's done nothing wrong, ethical or otherwise. How many guys didn't fare well in the 450 class and lost their jobs. Lost what they love doing. All because of a questionable rule. I wouldn't mind seeing twenty- thirty blazing fast guys all close in speed race each other. It's a tough crowd in here.

Is it better to be a podium guy in 250 or midpack rider in 450?

Taft's question obviously caught Davalos by surprise, and he went off the rails. Understandably. The guy is passionate about racing in America.... But it was the first time I've ever used the mute button. Too painful, eve more so than the infamous Alessi heat win interview.

Dude's 30 years old racing kids half his age.

His birthday is January 15, 1987, he will be 30 in a week. Thanks for playing, try again.
Oh wow, one year difference. Next year, when you are a year older why don't you move up in your career and make less money while doing a much harder job? That is exactly what your are saying you fuck.

You do realize he rides for a team that also funds a 450 effort. Moving up to the big bikes allows him to make his own personal deals, therefore bringing in more money. I Garunteed Hansen makes way more then Davalos does by doing his own thing and brining in his own sponsors.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong, because I have absolutely no idea at all. But it would surprise me if hanny makes more than davalos

Martin stood right there on the podium after his win and thanked "all the people talking about me".. sounded pretty emotional about it.

He means you cocksucking nobodies.

Hanny did not qualify. Davalos won his heat and rode a very respectable 3rd place finish in the main. If you have some proof that Hanson makes more, I would like to hear more about it.

Just thinking out lout here, but if Hanson was on his 450 in the 250 class last night, would he have made the main or another DNQ?

He sounded self conscious to me, almost embarrassed.

On one hand, I'm all for a guy making a living racing bikes whatever it takes...On the other hand, over a decade in the Regional class is a little ridiculous.

The way I see it he has been able to stay up front despite the sport evolving so much. The bikes changed, competition has gotten faster, he has avoided a career ending injury, tracks have changed yet, he is still up there. How many have come and go in his time?

sadly he's the glitch in the system.............need to change the rules for the class if powers that be don't want this to happen..........age rule, total points rule, total years in class rule, or just make it what it is.........a full on professional class and series

Everyone hates the analogy but its just like nascar.........a guy like Elliot Sadler has a job in Xfinity but would not if he couldn't be there
