Either Emig steps up his game or get someone else for the expert role.
Pit Row
I think Emig's story is quite remarkable. The irony that he has a speech impairment
and goes into a career using his voice is interesting. Not on topic, but his name came up and it made me think about this video.
RD: "I know which one you're talking about Ralph and I actually don't think it's that much faster..."
RS: "Ryan, we have it on camera, it's much faster. We can show you the film if you want."
RD: "Well my team timed it and it's really not any faster, Ralph. Thanks though."

What most people who complain about him fail to realize is that he's not announcing for the hard core fan who already knows everything about the sport.
His job is to help new fans or someone who is flipping through the channels and stops on the race understand what's going on. When he says "Tomac's coming up fast on the green bike or Reed's on the blue bike" it's because a lot of the viewers don't know what colors the different makes of bikes are. If he said Tomac's on the Kawasaki or Reed's on a Yamaha viewers wouldn't know what he was talking about.
Most of the television viewers are from the "Monster Jam" crowd. They have no choice but to dumb down the announcing.
EDIT rrjr-Nail hit squarely on head. Great post.
