40 yrs. I was at the Atlanta "Superbowl of Motocross" when Channel 11 Sportscaster Steve Sommers attempted the goalpost jump. Good times.

First race I attended was Anaheim 95' when I was 6 years old. I drew McGrath a picture of my replica helmet and gave it to him. I have that helmet today still with a tire mark across that back from when I got my head ran over racing 50's at hollisterhills

First race I went to was 64 years ago when my dad raced hillclimbs, 1st bike was a 80cc Suzuki I believe a 65 model. 1st race was at Perris TT in 67. Even after I stopped racing I still went to the races as a mechanic and even now with loosing a foot I still make it to a local race when dialysis will let me.

Not trying to suggest any value judgement with this statement, but based on the replies to this thread, it looks like vital members tend to skew much older than I would have ever imagined. It's pretty crazy to to see that so many of the active members on here have been riding/involved with racing for longer than I've been alive.

First race I attended was 1972 at Indian Dunes. Brad Lackey won the 250 Pro class on a CZ. He won the 500 Pro class on his first Kawasaki ride. Larry Watkins won the 125 Pro class on a DKW. Good memories. My first actual race was a D-36 event at Helvetia Park in Sacramento in 1973.

Started on a Kawasaki 120 in 1967. (Was told.....First bike sold from the first Kawasaki dealer in Michigan.) Still racing. 43 years.

Started riding in '74 on a RUPP mini-bike, first races in '76 on a 125 Elsinore; racing off-on since.
I always used to say riding is a good way to stay in shape but nowadays really need to (try) to stay in shape so I can ride!

Riding since 1985 on a PW50, when I was a couple months off 3 years old. My dad raced and it's in the blood. Took about 5 years off in the early 2000s, riding fast street bikes and driving modified cars. Nothing compares to moto. I love it more today than I ever have.

Started riding in 1968, went to my first motocross race in 1972, started racing in 1973, stopped racing in 1981, worked for an OEM from 1983 - 2009, running own shop 2009 - present. It's an addiction with no known cure....

First "real" bike was an 1984 CR60(brand spankin' new)Had many bikes since then. Rode all over the high desert. First started racing around 2000ish(late bloomer). Hooked on moto and racing till today. 42 years young. Great thread.

38 years racing 43ish riding started mx in 76 on a 73 yz 80 them around 80 started doing enduro and hair scrambles. Had to give it up in 2012 due to a bad practice crash with savior head trama. ;(

Riding for 15 years, never raced.. pro practicer at various tracks lol.

attending Pro sx races since 1989 i was just 5 months old at my first ever supercross.

I just turned 28 last month. so i still plan on riding and attending alot more races.

(I might even pull a john dowd and go pro at 30 and win the regional championship)
