Great woods bikes. Not a fan of the shroud graphics from their 1999 models though.

To each their own, I think they look really good.10 kg lighter than the '16 model and with KYB "good" stuff acording to EnduroPro magazine Very KTMish tough...

Don't knock them until you've tried one. I bought one specifically to do the Weston Beach race a few years back, and the bike ran like a champ through some of the harshest abuse it's possible to give a dirtbike. Very underrated bikes IMO - the 300 two stroke is a very capable bike for enduro/woods riding.

Only downside is that they can be a bit 'quirky' to work on, but easy enough. Things like taking the linkeage off to re-grease is a bit harder than your average Japanese bike.

Brock Hepler raced the ISDE on one. He and Barragan dominated the 6th day.

I think they look good! And it's great to see that they are still around after all the drama

I like the look of them. As a few have already stated, the new build does borrow a lot from the current KTM/Husky lineups you can see below:

Really though, it's not a bad thing. KTM is obviously doing something right! I also like they're going with known good suspension components.

Yep, no need to reinvent the wheel like Cannondale or BMW. The new direction are moto people, wish them the best.

Was it gas GasGas that bought the rights to the Husky red head motors that were coming out of Italy when BMW owned the brand?

Jeff Aaron's Endurocross bike has an Elka rear shock on it and a trick cylinder head.
Gas Gas bikes work great in the rough technical stuff.

WP builds the frames for KTM and they sell components to other manufacturers. Pretty obvious they are making that frame and swingarm. The GasGas engine is really solid.

I have a 2015 300 model and I cannot agree more with the fact that they are underated bikes... I can't be any happier with the bike both riding enduro or around the track. Bike is stable as a train, turns as good or better as my 12' ktm, Reiger shock is superb, Marzocchi fork is very good and has great adjustability (they have a preload adjustable system for the cartridge spring from the outside that changes the forks from offroad to mx in a single turn to a nut). and the engine rips. Only really flaw is the weight.

If the got it better with the new bike, you really have an amazing bike

Interesting to note that Gas Gas intends to market the new model as an Enduro in Europe and an XC model in the U.S.

I agree. KTM is turning into General Motors. Bunch of different brands, with the same goods under the hood. Yawn!

It'd be cool if those crazy Swede's came back yet again and resurrected what was first lost w/Husqvarna and later w/Husaberg. What's another Swedish word that starts with Hus....? Husa-göra?????

if i remember correctly the Gas Gas engine was closely based on the 92 to 01 honda engine. is it still the same?

Honda engine + Ktm frame + Yamaha suspension? would it be as tall as the ktm´s? same weird ergos? (to me who likes hondas)

KTM didn't buy Gas Gas. Torrot Group did.

If the Gas Gas frame looks like a KTM, it is because Gas Gas has always taken the designs they liked from other manufacturers and used them on their bikes.

Previous Gas Gas chassis were geometric copies of Kawasaki KX frames, including the subframe, and the resemblance there is obvious. The cylinder, rod, and power valve design has been very similar to a Honda CR.

that could be an amazing bike, yamaha suspension great engine and a ktm frame sounds like a winning concept to me ! when are they out ?

But let's be clear: KTM and WP are the same company.

Well yes. KTM and WP are owned by the same company. The separation is stratgic and allows for things such as this to happen. But as stated earlier they did not buy GasGas.
