Can he go to the hospital and say his name is an Italian name ? Then just leave....? John Doe does it here in the states all the time.

My medical coverage covers me in an emergency anywhere. Whether or not the hospital in the foriegn land recognize when the insurance companies excludes a ton of their bill...I'm not sure. I bet Anderson is in the same boat.

I think it is covered by your home country sanctioning body insurance , so AMA . But I could be wrong on that .

Correct, your home business/personal insurance should cover it - at least my insurance covered me when I was traveling abroad for business and got sick.

Not sure how their insurance works, but my insurance is a pain in the ass overseas. I essentially have to call my provider, or otherwise contact to notify, pay the bill in cash on my own dime, then send them the bill, drs write,up, fill out a report, and they will reimburse me for the expenses.

usually to sign up for a FIM race, or to get an FIM licence, you have to prove you have medical cover to a certain level,

I was injured in a crash in Mexico and even though my USA insurance covered me they wouldn't accept it and wouldn't let me leave the hospital. I paid my bill after negotiating with my American Express Card.
