Anyone can owe 50k on a Porche or 500k on a house. But who can go pull 100k out of the bank if they wanted to?
I kmow who the biggest baller here is and he's even posted in this thread with probably the oldest car in the thread.
In al seriousness i do feel that being healthy is very important and has less to do with money so in that part myself the misses and our 3 kids r blessed with good health ( apart from the blown out acl i'm currently dealing with )
I do live in a shithole called Belgium so i would say i'm in the top 0% richest people in the world

Ask anyone in hospice care what the value of a Bugatti is and see what the answer is.
But I do like seeing the toys all these guys have! Very cool stuff.
The guy I'm referring to posted a car about 40 years older then Nemans.
As I hit 30, I still didn't place much value on health - and I was talking with a neighbor who was 50 (and is a bonafide millionaire) and he disclosed that nugget to me. He said, "If you want to invest in something, invest in your health." As I approach 40 it means a lot more to me now.
I own my home, my 69 Mach 1 mustang, my brand new 2016 F150, my four motorcycles, my four bicycles, my wife's 2013 CRV, I have clear title to 120 acres and have money in the bank. All told well over a mil in the black with no debts.
Friends, it means nothing and I would trade it all to have my wife cured of cancer.

Things like that put everything in perspective. Someone can have "everything" and still not have the thing they wish for the most.
Hopefully you and your wife have shared some amazing experiences and will continue to get to do so for a long time to come.
There has to be a balance between life and "living." Like you said, none of us are getting out of here alive. I've seen plenty of people save for everything and have something catastrophic happen and miss out on living. As with most things, balance and moderation are key.
I'll tel you young guys who want it all this, wealth comes with a price. Dont understand? Follow along, while I have done well for myself in life it has come at the expense of time, time I'll never get back. My family hasnt been in need of anything in 18 years, theyve had everything theyve needed, except me. My wife knew how I was when we married so she understood the amount of time I put into work. My kids on the other hand just wanted me and for the most part didnt get me.
I would give up anything to get back the passed 20 years of my life and to have just settled, then maybe me and my older kids would have a relationship now. I had along talk with my 19 yearold son last week, he asked me if I remember the RC plane I bought him when he was 12, I said yes, he said do you realize its still in the box because I've been waiting for you to help me build and fly it? Dont think that hurt?
Anyways, stuff is exacly that, stuff, its the legacy you leave behind that matters.
Pit Row
It goes back to what I said,
Exactly what some have previously said, you can have all the stuff in the world but if you don't have someone who loves and supports you, relationships with the people most important to you, then you're as broke as they come regardless what your statements say
I know a few Vitards who are off the charts "baller" and they have not even posted in any of these threads. They are well into that Top 1% and are killing it. I think I do "okay" with a pretty successful little small business now in year 20 and fast approaching 30 pieces of rental property. I do have a bit of debt on some properties and the wife's new car but my debt is very manageable and less than 20% of my net worth. Credit cards get paid off monthly, never any interest or finance charges on them. Don't ever get sucked into credit card debt. My last week long vacation was back in 2010 by the way, the joys of owning a "small" business.
And Rupert wins for scoring such a smoking deal on that house and land of his.
