Hopefully, when the copied everything, they skipped the fork internals on the bike they cloned!

I was the operations manager for an importer of Chinese made dune buggies. The owner would crate up a complete US made buggy then ship it to China. 2 month's later we had our latest and greatest new model.

The build quality sucked balls and they couldn't even do a decent job of copying parts. The only thing that was of good quality was a couple of motors that were sourced from a Chinese automaker.

OT, I dont know what country it was from, but my buddy had a Lifan GS250 so obviously still super off brand. That thing could survive a meteor strike and had a much better ride than any Jap street 250 I've been on.
However, I wouldn't trust my life to a copycat off brander when it comes to MX.

If Cannondale was smart they would have cloned as well - from the greatest copycats in history, Japan.

No, I wouldn't push the joke past the name, which looks funny spelled that way--but I'll change it to avoid clickdom. Feel free to edit it out of your post.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Engineers gone wild killed the last chance at an American dirt bike.
They just couldn't help themselves.
So freaking smart they were stupid as a a rock.

If i could get them to make a 78 CR250, that would be cool to hang on the wall.

As crappy as it probably is, if someone brings that junk to the USA people will buy it.

Chinese KTM cloned suspension on a Chinese cloned dirt bike...just think what Jody would say.

Does anyone remeber David Pingrees Chinese Factory Bike raced at GH? Probably not it didn't even make it through one lap of practice. Couple corners though it actually made it to the middle of St Helen before it blew up and cracked in half quicker than his KTM.

Who has the pictures, or did The Chinese censor them like the Austrian guys are attempting to do with the pictures of Pings other bike? There was 100 of them from all angles five years ago now I can only find one.

Just realized sake is Japanese, do Chinese clone jack or moonshine from rice? It would work.

That's kind of sickening. All of ktm's r&d money cloned for nothing and sold to people who don't know better. Slap in the face putting a 222 on there as well.

The Tornado! That was a really good article in Racer X... I need to dig it up to read again.
