So I've always liked the idea of the 350 since it was first available. It wasn't quite fast enough to hang with the 450s when it first came out.
I tried a 17 model today, and it really surprised me how well it pulled. My question is, have any of you regretted going the 350 route? I'm concerned that, whilst it's a fun practice bike, I might regret trying to race it against 450s.

I weigh 240lb and go pretty good. I had no issues getting over anything even on the inside. I raced a few times and really didn't notice any lack of power.
I think I read the current 350 has 13 more hp then the 2011.
I wish the other brands would build a 350 with good forks.
The bike feels light and does not work you over like the 450 so it is a safer way to ride in most cases.

I switched last year from a 250 2t and a month later earned a 1st at Millville. The 250 is quicker right at the crack of the throttle but over the course of a race I could turn faster lap times. I guess I am getting old.
Does that count??

I absolutely love it. I have the 16 but have the 17 ER forks.
I was instantly faster and could ride longer.
I am/was a die hard two stroke guy but I do not regret my decision . You can ride it like a 250f and rev the piss out of it. In fact, it loves to be revved.
It's much easier to ride than a 450 when tired too...or a two stroke for that matter.
I was surprised how good the AER forks were. I think to ride the 450 properly you need to be on it during the week. 350 might be the perfect weekend warrior bike.
That being said, would love to see what the 350 could do screaming at 14,000 rpm around a wide open track.
I will try the SXF350 2017 in about 1 month, there is a possibility that i will change the 2016 450 to a 350 in 2017 if it suits me better.
Ive hopped on a few of the new generation yz450f, and every time it feels like a big heavy tank. Everytime I get on a CRF 450 I immediately feel comfortable but it still feels heavy to me. I'm afraid due to my weight im going to have to rev the absolute crap out of a 250f. But I always seem to be able to ride a 250F at race speed for much longer.
Are any of you guys on a 250f or 350 my size and age how do they work for you?
My brother is 250#'s and rides a 350 XCF and really likes it - pulls him around very nicely
