Also, I'd say:

on the USA side the answer is a Frenchman: Pourcel

and

on the GP side the answer is a Frenchman: Febvre

otherwise when I think of GOOD racers, I think of how hard they work instead of how naturally talented they are, ie. Dungey, Martin, Cooper, etc.

pure talent, those I mentioned..... and by the way, most of that pure talent comes from the mind, these guys are thinkers

Possibly George Jobe or Joel Smets, if i remember these guys started racing late into their teens?

Unlike these groomed robots from 4 years old.

Steve Wise will go down in history as one of the most multi-talented riders in the history of motorcycle racing. Wise earned the distinction of becoming the only rider in history to win AMA motocross, AMA Supercross and AMA Superbike nationals. The Texan further proved his all-around talent by earning a podium result in the AMA Grand National Championship when he took third, in his very first Grand National Dirt Track appearance, at the Houston Astrodome TT National in 1982.
I was wondering if someone was going to bring Steve Wise into the the discussion. Dude was a badass at whatever discipline he tried.

For current riders, I'd say Pourcel hands down. The guy is like the second coming of JMB.
For the most talented of all time, I'd have to say Stefan Everts. I've never seen another rider dominate the world's best, and look like he was on a trail ride while he did it.

Didn't Lechein ruin those guys after a night of binging....and probably a month of no practice? I'm guessing at least Jobe was there that day. But I could be wrong.

JMB, Lechien, Bailey, Carmichael. Little stocky short fucker flowed as well as anyone. I watched him when he was 14. He was a bad ass then.

Alright, so I've be debating in my head who is most naturally talented rider around right now. All the top guys obviously are really talented but they also work very hard to be talented. Is there anyone who stands out as having an incredible amount of natural talent even in comparison to other top riders? Some names I have tossed around as being maybe the most naturally talented may surprise some of you. I'm thinking possibly Seely, Barcia, or Bogle but I may be totally off base...thoughts?

He crashed through that turn when that pic was taken. Bounced off the wall and did a 360 and landed on his arse.

The talent is still there, the speed is not.

This is a thread about the most talented, not the fastest or most races completed.

I'd have to say, right now, Ken Roczen.

Blake Bagget

Cooper Webb,.yeah he has come on strong from a real young age. More aggressive than naturally talented.

Ryan Dungey,.works hard but he has real fluidity all around the track

Has anyone mentioned Magoo?...or Wardy?...The "Flying Freckle" is a natural racing ANYTHING on wheels! Then we have John "The Junk Yard Dog" Dowd and Doug Henry!....I believe they both started racing relatively late in life and they parlayed awesome careers outta what seemed to be 2 fluke wins on the same day in Hangtown. Fluke my ass! Natural talent just gettin started was more like it!

JS7 without a doubt. He's got some issues now but he's just a bad mo fo given his age. When he was on 2 strokes he was just a beast. Even his video on the YZ250 was damn impressive. Without a doubt the best 125 rider IMO.

Gotta agree with the JYD. He didn't start racing until he was 21 and quickly rose up to the pro ranks and had a career long enough to qualify him as a fossil.

Marty Tripes is another old timer that comes to mind.

I used to love 'The Machine.' 1988 Supercross series on the quacker was awesome. True fluid style.
