I didn't boot him... I was awaiting his response to see if it was required. Me, personally, I don't like meltdowns... Just leaves more for me to clean up later...

Seely has been linked to get the ktm spot. Deano is out and will be done on a factory squad. He will be on either jgr or bto sports bike. I believe Canard, Roczen(maybe), Bogel will all be on Honda.

Iam more than sure that a tenative deal is in place with Roczen, however things can change. It would be a shame to see Roczen swap brands while beating the feild like he has the past month aboard his Suzuki.

Look at Eli...i gaurantee he wishes he had stayed at Honda! He doesnt have to say much other than he went for the big dollar contract and now is struggling to find the speed he had on the Honda.
this is funny.. Have you not listened to any of his interviews?? he says a new bike takes time to learn what it does good and bad and work with it.. Just like the Dung had to figure his bike out for the first 4 or 5 rounds last season.. at the pace these guys ride, the slightest changes change everything.. takes a little time to figure it out not just 2 weeks of testing, the guys on the same bikes as last year atleast have ball park settings to work with.

I can see DeCoster thinking "we can work with speed" about Canard. I hope Trey hooks up with Aldon. The time spent with guys like Dungey & Musquin can only help Trey become a little smarter and more cautious...which is really all he needs to push him to the front more consistently (IMO) since he's obviously got the speed and talent it takes. He just needs to make better racing decisions than the ones he's making now... that keep him hitting the ground...and other people.
I don't think trey has major issues with crashing, he just needs to start up front. His starts were so bad the last 2 years, I think he put too much pressure on himself to come through the field quickly that it caused some issues. I have to imagine that the way the KTM starts could've been a factor in trey going there. whether it's as good on starts as it appears or not, the confidence boost has to be real.

I try not to get caught up in the drama anymore, but damn there is some idiotic comments in this thread. I wish a good thread like this could stay on topic without some douche coming in a showing their ass. But, I digress...

I would love to see Trey go to KTM and join the Baker factory. I think it would be just what he needs to get him where he needs to be. As we all know he has the speed but his starts have done him in. Would hate to see Deano go but his results speak for themselves. This silly season is one for the books lol.

Maybe it is a big team BUT they dont have 250's to look after now so surely it is a possibility for at least 1 year to see how it goes???

By far, Canard is my favorite rider. Here are my thoughts:

- Honda taking CS14 over Canard is a big mistake. Canard is faster outdoors and indoors.

- When I think Honda, I think Canard. He graduated from the Geico squad, handed Honda its first 250F outdoors title in years, and is bonafide beast on the bike

- The Baker Factory would do wonders for Canard. I believe his program is weak compared to Dungey, Roczen. His coach was never known for starts. Canard's weakness is starts.
- Who ever signs Canard, gets a cheap asset
- Brand. Canard's life is amazing. I would want him to be the face of my brand.

Hope he stays honda. Regards, I am a huge fan.

this, and not as though Honda cant field another big rig rider...in saying that I still think the Kawasaki route is the more probable one

How would you know that whoever signs him is getting a cheap asset without knowing the terms of the contract?
I would say he is a desirable asset, but what if he were to be the highest paid 450 rider? Would that still be considered "cheap?"

The "word on the street" was that Kawi was offering him less than half his current Honda salary.

I like Trey. He is a good brand ambassador where ever he lands but if you think, based on his last two years and his age that he will ever be back close to his current pay scale I'd like to know why.

This sounds funny...but I don't think you've see the "best" Trey Canard. If this KTM deal is a fact, then he will probably have the opportunity to train with Aldon Baker. That association will allow him to harness the speed he already has loads of, and (as I said before) his time spent with "thinking" riders like Dungey will benefit him too. I believe Trey is as fast or faster than Ryan Dungey, but he needs to think a bit more before he pulls the trigger.

I kind of agree, imho the bike/brand is not the core issue (without sounding like I am a expert mental/rider coach - not the intent here), with perhaps a different trainer then he could reap more benefits i.e. results

I think Canard still has the fire burning. He seems like he rides really hard, really trying. Some guys just turn laps and settle. Maybe like someone said. The KTM's seem to start well. They did for Shorty anyway. That could be an asset to Trey.

signing with monster kawasaki and maybe having the opportunity to train with john and eli tomac doesn't sound to shabby either to me.

Canard goes to BTO. Fly did some talking, read trowed some money. Andrew Short' Fly Budget will go to BTO, so BTO can sign Canard and keep Brayton and Bloss. Strong team if you ask me. Maybe Brayton turns into Millsaps dunno. But then again strong team if you ask me.

Yeah, but I think that would put him in the same shadow of the "star" rider like Jake Weimer was when he was second banana to Ryan Villopoto. If you think Team Kawasaki will give the same attention to Canard as they do Tomac, you're mistaken.

You're a fucking fool if you think Canard can demand the same from his current contract. He didn't podium once in Supercross. Not once. Honda was expecting him to compete for a title.

Nice post. I don't think I even came close to suggesting what he could demand from his next contract, or if it would be more or less than his current one. I merely asked how you knew he could be had so cheaply. I guess you know what he is looking for, and how the terms stack up against the other factory riders who are getting paid their full value. I would also venture a guess that when he does sign a new deal it will reflect his current value, since that is basically the definition of fair market value in an "arm's length" agreement. Here you go.

Arm’s Length Transaction Definition

An arm’s length transaction or the arm’s length principle is a transaction that takes place between two completely unrelated parties. An arm’s length transaction also implies that the final transfer of assets or services will be valued at the fair market value.

Just heard from a totally fictitious source and therefore most likely unreliable that Treyboy will be on the newly resurrected and merged DKW/STEEN/CARABELA factory effort. When reached for comment Canard stated, "What the bleep bleep bleep". Seriously, he said bleep bleep bleep...cause Trey doesn't swear. I'll give further updates as I pull them from my wazzuter.

If Trey does end up going Orange, I have 2 questions for those suggesting he'd benefit from training under Aldon:

1) Does Aldon want to train another 450 rider? In all of the interviews I've read, he's said there's only 3 positions on the podium, so he'd like to have a 250 guy as his 4th rider.

2) Is Trey willing to leave Oklahoma to live/train in Florida?

Savatgy will stay in the 250 class another year. He will probably make more money and be a legitimate title contender next year if he stays on a 250. No reason for him to move up just yet IMO.
