Bike was running poorly because break in mapping was still activated. Hadnt reached the required # of hours to activate race map.

It was good to see james riding much more like himself. Too bad the bike crapped out.

For a short time I worked for an Indy car team that was regularly grenading engines. They used the electrical excuse often enough that it pretty well pissed off their electrical supplier, who wondered how the large oil stripe on the track was caused by them.

That said, James' bike ran, but it seemed to be an intermittent issue. The team has lots of data to look at to try and figure out exactly which component in the system it was. According to them, it could have been anything, including a fuel pump.

That has to be something to build off of. He was going forward in the main and top 5 was within reach last night. Plus looked good in the heat race as well. I know he has to be beyond frustrated but keep the head down James and the hard work and determination is paying off slowly.

Oddly enough, this was not a bad thing for James all in all.

The points don't matter at this point. He got thru a round without an incident or poor finish. He got some positive seat time. His fitness gets an extra round to ease back into a full 20 laps. Suzuki takes any heat from this, not James, so that takes some of the pressure/focus off of him.

And it will have fueled his hunger for next week.

These James threads are so polarizing that it's hard to know what to say in them. I tend to side with you and be hopeful and offer encouragement. But when I read your post, I just had to laugh. For James to 'ease back into a full 20 laps' at this point seems crazy talk. There's 5 rounds left, and as far as I know he's finished one twenty minute main event all season. The whole Suzuki squad seems unprepared. This season has been an unmitigated disaster for him. I worry everytime I watch him race. I feel the same about Canard and Short. Rushing back from injury without preparation doesn't end well for young guys and even less well for older guys. I hope these guys can retire or move on to the next phase in their young life with dignity and grace...and good health. I enjoy riding and watching dirt bike racing, but there is a lot more to life and much to enjoy. Got to balance what's at risk vs what's to gain and be smart about your future.

Must of missed a bunch of those bad comments. Not sure what happened to James' bike , how the heck would that of been his fault? Looked like it was totally out of his hands. He looked really really good in his heat! Looked the best so far this season i thought. Was bummed seeing him on the side of the track. I think he had a good finish in him.

Bubba made it back to the SX series this week. Yet another 22nd place finish. Four starts this season, three 22nd place finishes. He did stay off the ground which was good. Decent finish in 2nd behind Dungey in the heat race. Main rolls around, and yet again.....another pull off to the pits for Bubba.

Listened to this post race interview. Couple things caught me. He said they tried some new forks tonight, and he really liked them. First time using them. What the hell, team Suzuki shows up at the races with a new fork and Bubba is riding it for the first time at a race? Make sense to anyone else?

He then claims he had an electronic issue with the bike, and had to pull off, right after he was blowing past people in the whoops "like old school 2006". I don't buy it. Bike seems to run fine, then poof, It is cutting out and cant ride a SX track like that. I get it, you cant have your bike cut out over a jump. What I don't get, is the fact that yellow bikes seem to have more grimlins than any other bike at the pro level. It also seems that RCH Suzuki does not have the same issues.

Just a lot of weird things in this interview. I think there is more going on than a electronic issue. It is almost like Bubba just does not want to ride mid-pack, so pull off and come up with a new excuse.

If James ever wanted to reinvent himself, I wish he would try this setup...it works.

James would never be able to please you so quit trying to "get it" or figure it out..

James has proven many times he'll ride mid pack and try to push to the front and in fact has made it to the front.

He is so good in the opening laps. He and Dungey were pulling a big gap to others in the heat, and JS7 had no problems staying with Dungey, it almost looked like he was cruising.

I'm just glad to see James look anything like "James Stewart" on a SX track for a change! I'm also glad to see him looking focused, and not like he's still suffering from the concussion at A1. I did think it was funny, in the post-race interview to hear him say he was "blowing by guys" in the whoop section, when Chad Reed & others were calling the whoops at SC "flat". But, hey...I'm also glad to hear some confidence in James' voice & a smile on the dude's face again! Compared to getting t-boned, lapped or looping out in the whoops...that's finally a good thing, right? I hope he does well the rest of the series.

I used to be a huge fan of James Stewart fan back in the 2 stroke days. That time has come and gone. His time has come and gone. He should be backing up his brother Malcolm. Can we start multiple threads about whoever averages 25th in the 450 main every week? That would be more exciting than these worthless threads. Same excuse different week. It will always be something until he hangs it up. Hopefully sooner rather than later while he can walk away.

You could hear his bike stop right as he landed. Scary shit man.

It was making some weird popping noises as he rode by as well.
